hmm, that looks different from my wave trac...

but in any case... shitty 75-90 is the way to go.. non synthetic.

also, check your back lash, and your mesh pattern. also, if you have the means.. check the pattern with yellow paint.  and make sure your pinion preload is spot on.. these 9"'s are finiky wirh it comes to pinion preload.

if you need any help just pm me

The only issue I had is on a hairpin when the WT unloads.  Is that what you're referring to, mani?  I'm talking big ass pop but I read up and it's a function of how it works.  Or are you talking just noisey?

Thank goodness mine is now quiet off pedal with the lash right.

it was actually a problem with it  howling just in corners.

OK.  Thanks for sharing, bud.  I'll let you know if I have that prob with the 85/140.  Trans is out and converter off to PT for adjustment.  Minor stuff other than that so hopefully we'll be able to test it at the track one more time and then I'll bring the big girl home for some local romps.

Yeah...that's weird for a differential, Frank.  Off pedal is where I'm used to seeing a howl.

mani - the Mile will be fun but I'm hoping to get it back well in advance and run it around locally.  Quarter or wherever they'll have me that doesn't include jail time...

:D

I see now. This is why he couldn't finish it last night, he didn't have a very big selection "side work out of his Dad's barn" :D

Mani, the trans shifts normal, no noise whatsoever there. The whining is isolated to the rear only. Hell, it may just be normal with the solid bushings in, but it sounds just like the Dana in my 70 R/T.

frank it might be shifting normal, but sometimes the trans gears go out of mesh.. especially with the amount of tq youre making, i wouldnt be surprised if you have an alignment issue with your 4,5,6 rear cluster
