Hmmmm, Hellcat 9's With Special High Boost Drivetrain Testing!!

Interesting if even close to the truth :)   I personally have no problem believing 22psi can get it done.....who will be the first to prove it I wonder?

Well, I have a family member that is on the engineer team for these. I rode in a 300 that was out fitted with the hellcat drivetrain but looked like the 300c on the out side. At the time I was in the car it was being pushed to the max with boost to test drivetrain. On the test 1/4 mile with 19-22psi of boost and two fat guys we ran a 9.701-9.711-9.853 with a set of drag radials. This car didn't have all the suspension and brakes of the production car... We hit 201 mph before we ran out of straight away also.

Don't kill the messenger lol. I just got off the phone so I got my facts right. The stock engines make 760-770 on a engine dyno. The tune that we had was pushing the drivetrain to the max for testing. That tune would make near 930-950 on a engine dyno. The boost was 21-22 and was on e85. There was only one guy in the car for the 1/4 pulls. I was in the car for the 200+ run. The hellcat will be a tad heavier then this car was in stock forum. But he said, with a pulley change and tuning, running e85 you could very well run into the 9.9x area.

Sorry but I don't believe that.  There is no way that little blower is getting a 4500 lb car (+ 2 guys) to the same place as a YSi/F1 class blower.  You're talking upping the boost 10lbs and getting well outside it's efficiency range to pick up 1.2 in ET.

I have no doubt we will see Hellcats in the 9's, and I am guessing they won't be the 4500lb fully loaded versions.  And for what it is worth, I have seen stock low option 300's/Chargers/Challengers weigh in under 4K.

you can spray it right into the 9's with out changing anything

That brings up a good question John, how much can you spray without a tune change???/

Personally, I think the stock tune will take nicely to a squeeze of juice given the conservative timing curve likely dialed in for boost and the fact that it will be super rich from the factory. A 100 shot of juice will likely result in 150+rwhp on this combo just making that PD that much more efficient.  Do it....Do it John.

lol at the original posts.  Next thing we'll hear is the Hellcat has cured cancer!

I would be curious to swap out the stock blower with a whipple and see how they do.

Bingo!

I actually had a discussion on FB with a doofus claiming anyone who modifies a Hellcat would be insane lol  I don't own a car that isn't modified.  A bigger blower and some head work is probably the first thing I'd look at doing.  I felt like i was losing brain cells during that conversation, reminded me why I don't get on FB that often.
