Question About 5.7 To 6.1 Stroker

Just wondering what things I will need for my swap. I have a 2011 5.7vvt I am swapping out for a 6.1 based stroker. Here is a list of what I have bought so far.

6.1 intake mani gasket and bolts

90mm to 6.1 bolts and gasket

Oil pan gasket

Water pump gasket

Valve cover gaskets

Fuel rail bolts

Timing cover gasket

Header gaskets

Head studs

Head gaskets

Lifters

Getting hardened pushrods

Anything else I can't swap off my 5.7? Map sensor? PCV Valve?

Your pcm will need to be recalibrated for the 6.1 and your vin. I changed all the sensors on mine when I went from a vvt motor to a non-vvt.

Yep PCM is already shipped out.  Forgot about that.  Maybe I should have listed things that I could swap over from my 5.7.  I upgraded damn near everything on this new motor.

Does the 6.1 have an oil cooler on the bottom of the block like the 392 does?

No but you can ad one.  they basically used the police package oil cooler..  OP you will also need a customer bracket for your a/c compressor.

So OP, i would highly recommend while you are doing your swap that you buy the police package oil cooler.  It took my temps down around 20 degrees on my 392 with vs. without.  It's a PITA to get the lower hose on but it's worth it.

6.1 crank position sensor. Can't use a VVT crank sensor with a Non VVT engine.

Pilot Bearing?

Rear Main Seal?

6.1 Timing and Oil pump?

Fuel Line so it can connect on the opposite side for the 6.1. Don't know where to get. Novawagonmaster made me one.

New header bolts (6503131- 16 - $.60 -.80 each)
