My dad bought this brand new when he got home from Vietnam in 1973. Came with a 318. Car was babied until i was born in 1980 (my first car ride home was in this car from the hospital ) and then it became the family car for a few years. i rode in a clothes basket wrapped in blankets on the front passenger floor when my mom had to drive if my dad wasnt around. remember this is the early 80's and car seats were not really the norm! after my brother was born in '84, the car was parked at my grandather's house in a carport/barn until 1999 when we brought it home to bring back to life. it really wasnt in bad shape, just needed new fuel tank, brake lines, fluids, radiator rebuilt, carb rebuilt, new freeze plugs..normal stuff from sitting partially outside for 15 years in the Northeast. after i moved out, my dad said i could take the car since i helped him restore it as a housewarming gift. Best. Gift. Ever! i recently found a 340 intake/4bbl carb to put on her as a winter project and will eventually like to get a 360 to drop in some day...dad always wanted to put a bigger motor in her and i'm sure he will help too!
thanks Stevo...you are right. i will never sell this car. hope to pass it on to kids of my own some day.
I know these cars well. My first was a 74 318 red with black stripes. Next one was a 73 340 pistol grip blue with black stripes. Yours is in great shape and it used to belong to your dad! You will never get rid of her I bet!

That is in great condition!
thanks Jay...still the original paint, no body work. its a little rough around the edges, but you gotta look close. not bad at all for almost 40 years old!
i hope to have kids to pass it onto someday and keep it in the family!

Wow, that is a beautiful car - and VERY VERY clean for being original. Has it ever had paint or body work?
That's not just a car any more - that's a family heirloom. Keep her in good shape.
