Umm, no.

Not sure how I could wedge the exhaust from the shop vac against the intake flange if the intake flange was against the head flange.

Sorry I wasn't more clear... On the passenger side of the intake, at the flange that mates to the head, there is a port towards the rear that communicates with the PCV outlet hole on the front of the intake. I blew air through this port so air blew out forcefully from the PCV hole in front as I drilled and tapped it. Without doing this, lots of aluminum chips and shavings would end up sitting inside the intake with no real way to get them out. They could either work there way out the front and end up in the catch can filter material, or work their way rearward and drop into the block and then the oil pan. That could be bad...

Got the intake installed, -8AN fittings and hosing for the breather system. Looking back now, I think -6AN would have been more than adequate.

The problem I encountered was that the catch can is now filling up VERY QUICKLY with the -8AN fittings and hosing. It is sucking air from the crankcase at an alarming rate, filling the catch can to overflowing in under 100 miles.

My solution was to remove the 90 degree fitting from one side of the catch can, and insert a 3/8" piece of metal rod about 1-1/2" long inside the 90 degree fitting before reinstalling the fitting back onto the catch can. This SHOULD significantly decrease the vacuum to the catch can thus decreasing the vapors sucked out of the crankcase. It sure worked by my sucking through it with my mouth before installing it.

Anyone decides to go with braided hosing, I suggest -6AN, and find a way to keep the PCV valve in the system.

Here's the promised photos of the intake before, squirrel stash of nuts, pre-post porting, reinstallation, and converting the catch can hoses from rubber to braided SS.

There, photos as promised. Wanted to get the heads and a new cam installed before CF3, but that's not going to happen. I have an appointment at Arringtons with AJ next week Tuesday for a dyno tune to get the nitrous ready..

What you have to have a really fast car to go with the really fast and badass truck? Speaking of which are you brining the truck again this year?

The current plan is to throw the Challenger on my Kaufman car hauler trailer, then pull it up to Bowling green with the truck. Both will be at the track. This time the car's gonna beat that truck, but not by much...
