So we've got snow.  I can't put my truck sideways and it's taking the fun out of winter driving.  I used to toss my '03 Dakota around like snot hanging from a kid's face.

With TC full on you can barely get spinning that the truck falls flat on its face.  TC off is a joke and only lets you get mildly sideways before killing the party.

Yet this morning on black ice at about 25 mph, the truck got sideways at some point and Mr Squiggles was clueless and did nothing, which caught me off guard since I didn't expect the truck to be capable of it.

Piece of shit electronic nanny.

What year? My 2013 Wrangler lets me turn it completely off. It's been a ball in the snow!

2013 RAM 1500

I tried holing the button 10 seconds, doing the key trick, dancing on my head, nothing turns it off.

Put a cut off switch in to shut the TC off, I put a noesp switch on my 2010 R/T, I think it cost about $50 and was a pretty easy install.  Of course that doesn't help you make it work when you actually need it lol.

I wonder if any of the tuners would turn it off completely. I added a Bully Dog GT for Hemi to my 11' a couple of weeks ago. It has the capability of TC off in the settings but I don't know that it does anything different than the button on the dash.

Didn't Diablo just come out with a tuner for the 2013 recently too? Great suggestion btw.

A tuner may be the only way to go.  I'm just pissed that they take the effort to put a stupid button on the dash to turn it off but it doesn't really turn it off.

I just read the manual...  I can turn it Full Off if I'm in 4WD, stopped and I press the button for 5 seconds.  Even then, it will return to Partial off over 40 mph.

What a crock.

Yep it's out there now, also for many of the 2014 models.

Well it's most likely because you can't be trusted, just remember they know what's best for you lol.

Yes they did, and if I could have got the Trinity for what I paid for the Bully Dog I would have done so. The BD is about 1/2 the size of the Trinity and fits in the "A" pillar pod nicely but so far i'm not overly impressed but really haven't played with it long enough to be sure. Just from what I've seen so far the Trinity is much better by leaps and bounds.

I just checked the user manual about the TC off and it says it turns it completely off and goes on to say that in turning it back on that you may need to cycle the key for the light on the dash to go out. So it likely does turn it off completely.

Remember traction control is different then stability control. I have a 2013 Ram at home. I know the nannies were working when I took it out in the snow storm last weekend but I didn't try turning them off since I was just going to get a pizza down the street. I'll have to try it when I get back from my trip later this week.

Can't say why it doesn't work when it was supposed to but I put this in to shut it all off on track days. Supposed to be the same as the srt disable. Seems to work.

I don't think there's a NoESP for the RAMs.

D,

If you're serious, just locate the ABS module.  You can tap into the proper wire (search the wiring diagram on ramforumz) and place a toggle to interrupt the signal.  It'll shut off all sorts of nannies and the dash will light up.  Use a toggle with an LED and you'll always know whether you have it in kill mode or not.

:D
