I found some socket head cap screws that thread all the way in. I measured the pitch with a gauge. I originally thought the screws were 1/4-28. I couldn't get one to thread past the third thead so I broke out my screw thread chase set. 6mm was the right one.
I just want all the hardware to be the same. Those screws you have there are button head cap screws. The ones in question are round head and have a different, lower profile and are phillips driven.
Hence why I'm on the hunt for two more screws and washers.

how are you going to put the screw in ? my post came loose and turned around making round scratches inside the scoop on the top part of my hood. are you going to drill through the top of the scoop ?

It's the bottom that was taped. The part on the hood. A thru hole will do as it is a single layer of fiberglass there. Problem will be trying to get to it as the access hole for the front hood latch has to be used. I will probably drop another thru hole in that lower part of the fiberglass just large enough for the Phillips driver. Then I'll use a angled hemostat to hold the screw and thread that thru the opening. And then drive the screw to with the phillips. Sounds harder than it will be as long as I don't drop the screw in the process.
I manage a motion picture cameras rental house for a living so I'm real used to unusual mechanical workings. And very precise measurements. Most of our equipment requires a maximum tolerance of 1/100 of a millimeter. Roughly 4 ten-thousandths of an inch for you yanks.

duct tape is the answer. it will help cover the scratch.

To get the bolts that hold the scoop to the hood it would be: $24 shipped. Manufacturer will only sell them as a set, no way to separate them.
Let me know
Thanks

It's definitely 6mm threads.

There are threaded bosses on the bottom of the scoop. That's where the support rods screw to.
It's underneath on the hood where the support rods are held with tape. There should be a thru hole here and the screws thread up into the rods. Everything would be hidden if done properly.
But like they said it isn't designed like that!
