It's about time to change the plugs on my 5.7, and I'm wondering if getting 1 step colder plugs would be okay or if it would fuck anything up. I know it's not necessary, as I'm pretty much stock, but the price difference is negligible and I'm not so sure how long I will remain stock.

Here's the sitchiation: OEM replacements, NGK LZFR5C-11, are hard to find and are $5 each, at the dealer or here: http://moesperforman...oducts_id=12610 ($80 for all 16)

1 step colder, the NGK 7787's, can also be found at moesperformance: http://moesperforman...oducts_id=12516 ($82 for all 16)

Now, factor in that I can get the 7787's for $4 each at rockauto, and they become very appealing. It's actually a better deal for the 1 step colder plugs. But is there any downside to going with them when I have no power adders?

do you have a blower? If not, I would switch to the cheaper copper plugs

What Mike said. They're plenty good enough and are like what $2 a plug or less??? Then if you go all mojo later on you can worry about stepping colder. No need at this point.
