So i can tell by the time i ask this someone is going to come on with some formula i don't get but i need to ask.

I have a trinity in my car. i have TRIED AND TRIED to remember how i set this up and i can't remember nor where i found it.. but under the synthized settings it has a kpa something or other and if you changed it to psi it reads boost pressure.

well for the life of me i can't figure out how i did it.

my trinity is acting goofy.. it won't let me transfer a log from my trinity to my computer.. locks up and turns white screen.. but if i save it IN THE CAR to a sd card i can.. but the BOOST PID that once was there is no more.. but the pid is on the screen and i can see it in the trinity when i am driving.

can someone help me out..  i don't understand what the hell happened or what i did nor can i remember how i set this up lol.. sorry if i could remember i wouldn't be asking here.

To change it from kpa to psi: Tap on the gauge and the option will come up.  I'm not sure if you can do it when in Monitoring mode or if you have to set up a new gauge.

I don't believe you can display actual boost unless you route a signal from a MAP sensor into one of the analog inputs.

You can select a PID that will show absolute PSI but you will have to use that to subtract atmospheric pressure (usually around 14.x psi)  to determine actual boost psi.

However, if there is a way to calculate actual boost I'd love to learn how.

For some reason when you transfer a log with the boost pid to the computer it changes it to some other measurement. I can't remember what it changes to but it doesn't say boost anymore

Here's the problem.  The "boost" pid is synthesized.  It's actually under "synthesized pids" I believe.  The way it work is it takes the MAP and BARO pids and subtracts BARO from MAP giving you a boost reading.  However when you dump it out in data viewer from a log the two pids are back to being MAP and BARO.  I e-mailed Diablo about that bug 2 years ago and never heard back.  Would seem simple enough for them to add a "boost" pid in Dataviewer to do the math for you.  Outside of seeing boost on the Trinity the synthesized boost pid is useless.

Log pratio.....pratio x 14.7 = then subtract 14.7 will give you actual boost. So if you have 1.50 pratio it will look like this

1.5 x14.7 = 22.05 -14. 7= 7.35psi

What I don't get is 3 months ago it showed the boost readings in log on data viewer i sent it to aj he seen it to. I am not crazy despite what some might think. Now poof. Gone.
Why I have no idea.

And why the white screen when trying to send a log from it to the computer?

The boost thing by all rights I feel really isn't that big of a deal. Unless you some sort of slip issues in the belt it is more for show than anything else. But it sure would be nice if it was there and working properly

Speedy this MAP CLAMP you have been making would this take care of the issue?

And how would it be wired up since I don't have the same gauges you do?

Gonna bump this for us1champ and ask some questions.

Just got a couple used Trinity's.... I know, probably a bad idea

Working on trying to figure this crap out before the shortblock shows up for the Challenger.

When I hook it up to the Jeep, and "monitor," one of them seems to be working fine, the other, is showing increasing rpm's, MPH when there is no MPH etc.

First thought is that it is fucked, but I am not the most technical ace out there, so before sending it back to the dude I bought it from, figured I would ask the experts here.

I updated it last night, still same thing.

I won't go into datalogging just yet, need to figure one thing out at a time

ya man these things are hit or miss i have found.

i have talked to some people and they say sending them into diablo to get REPAIRED is hit or miss.. sucks as they are not cheap. and for what ever reason as temperamental   as a women

i finally just gave up and deal with it.

as long as i can still log. and find a way to get the logs to the tuner at this point i don't care.

but in your case.. you got one sounds like a dud.

The Boost PID doesn't actually log. In the log you'll see map and map baro. The map clamp is to reduce map values in a linear fashion to not exceed 1 bar of boost (14.7 psi)

Thanks for all the help everyone lol

Called Diablo, I guess the guy that sold it to me never even used it, it was in display mode. All I had to do was change the car, and boom, worked. I swear when I updated it, it asked me the vehicle and I entered 2008 Jeep, oh well, works now.

What he said, I just get so used to seeing Pratio I can approximate in my head.  Be carefull though it's not exactly linear

Chris,

Are you using a sd card? This is going to sound crazy as hell but I have seen it happen on two different Trinity's. Mine out of the blue started doing the white screen BS, I ran the update on it and still had the same issue. I had not ever used a sd card in mine, always hooked the laptop up directly to the Trinity or took it in the house and hooked it up to my desk top. I was having the same problem with the white screen on the lap top or my desk top. So just for shit's & grin's I popped an sd card in it and wa la ! No more white screen issues. A friend of mine was having the same issue's, told him to try the sd card in his, wa la issue fixed again. I contacted Diablo about It and they thought I was nucking futs,  never heard of that. But it worked on two different Trinity's with the same issue.

Hey Kenny
I started using the card only because the PC if shit won't load tunes and data log unless I have it in the trinity

Junk totally junk
