Valve springs and dampeners

Ok this a something we commonly do

Reach out to the experts to get input on use of their product. Sometimes to confirm what we believe as in this case. And sometimes just to get direction . Either way it is always best to reach out to the people that design the product.

This motor was ran long enough to use a tank of gas and had a bottom end knock come about. We are told the springs are brand new but we want your opinion on running the dampener and the amount of wear on the spring caused by the dampener. Three springs and three dampeners are leaving us tonight for you. Thanks and looking forward to hearing back from you.

This kind of spring is not designed to run with a dampener and If you think that you are having harmonic issues maybe look into a different valve spring. Hope this helps and if its alright with you I will be sending these back when I hear back from you.

Dave,

Thanks for looking into these for us. Dave has never liked using a dampener and these where just brought in by a customers that assembled his own heads. We have seen many come in from people who do there own installs running these dampeners on your springs and we wanted to confirm that this wasn't right. Dave has always chosen springs based on cool bind to keep harmonic issues in check and that's how we will continue.

Funny you should bring this up . the 6.4 core I just bought  had broken a Valve spring and thus dropped the valve broke it and rammed the valve stem through the piston . will be upgrading springs But what do you normally use for valves ?
Nothing Fancy just a well built 6.4 will be using your drop in pistons and rods as well as maybe the NSR cam or possible custom grind.

Stock 6.4L Valve's are good for most. OEM is a hollow stem intake and sodium filled exhaust.

Factory Dave at 3k miles  , Which I know you sell the NSR cams but think I might as well upgrade them . Little farther down the road I hit you up on which way to go for a cam NSR or Custom.
