The knock sensors in our cars seem to be a little too sensitive. While I know they must be there and, would never just remove them, are there sensors that are not quite such a pain in the ass? Example; My RT has MDS. When this mode engages, I get ST KR on my datalogs....It only lasts for a second or two but, it really isn't knock due to fuel octane issues...The other area where some ST KR is seen is due to the increased shift firmness (torque management reduction) setting being selected in the quick adjust menu...When it shifts really hard at WOT, you guessed it...ST KR pops up for a second again...It just seems funny (or not) that the sensors are unable to tell the difference between "normal" and fuel related issues...It just reads everything as "fuel" and instantly retards the timing while it checks to see if the "issue" continues... The damn DS Predator has taught me a ton about how this car works....but, am still learning something everyday....Know I can turn off MDS with auto-stick mode or dyno mode but, need the highway fuel economy that MDS provides.... Do I just have to suck it up and live with it or, is there an alternative solution?

you can desenceatize them, It's not a good idea but everyone that does forged motors does it cause the forged parts make it even worse

What does your LTKR look like? I'm curious to know if these small blips in STKR are contributing to your LTKR.
I really need to get a Pred.

Yep, John's on the money. A custom tune can desensitize them. A good tuner can tell false knock from the real deal. Forged parts go clakity clack.

Shark...I have 0 LT KR showing in my logs....a good thing....You really should get one, they are fantastic. The trinity might be better, ask some of the other members here.... SRT, GSO, Speedy, HemiSam, and Boatman will know...

Thanks much SRT and Speedy. Was just hoping there was a better solution....need it to work like it should. (Just wish it wasn't so jumpy about every little noise...)
