If possible, the pros/cons? What else needs upgraded? And estimated costs?

I've seen a few 426 stroker kits for the 6.1, but is it possible to get there with the 5.7? I thought I read somewhere 383 is about the biggest you can go.

I've been told by Arrington that a 426 is no good on a 5.7. They'll do a 410 though.

First off, if I went with a 417, what is the cost and what HP/Tq numbers would I be looking at once finished. Not having the knowledge to build myself I would be looking to have PWR or another experienced builder help me. Separate pricing for parts and labor would be great. Preferably a breakdown of all the parts required so I can put 2+2 together in my head if you know what I mean.
And after the 417 is complete, would there be any room left to supercharge it? Or am I taking the block to its limits with the 417 upgrade?
On the second option to upgrade to a 6.1 block, I assume I would give my 5.7 block + $1,000 for a 6.1 block? Is this a stock block, or does it have any upgrades? If upgraded what are HP/Tq numbers and is there anything else I would need to make it run? With a 6.1 block, I see where I could fly over to a 440 kit. Could I still safely add a supercharger to the 440 kit?
A third option, I saw an aluminum 426 block. What all is required to make that into a useful product? And what would be the final HP/Tq numbers on it? What are the concerns if going this way? I presume adding a supercharger should be pretty easy?
Keep in mind, my car is a daily driver. Whatever build I decide on I want to maintain the ability to continue daily driving. I'm pretty sure I don't want NOS, as I want "constant" power just not a shot of power. Also, I don't want to just piss away money. I want to get bang for my buck. So if something I am asking for is retarded like that, tell me. Like most people, I do have limited resources. Right now I am doing research to determine WHAT I want to build while I continue saving my pennies. But I would love a 426 if it's reasonably possible.

417ci is the biggest we will go. For the money, just pay the $1000 and get a 6.1 block.
Hey Andy, I've been wondering about this. Now that you can actually get a real cam for a VVT 5.7 thanks to Comp's Phase Limiters, is there any benefit (or at least reduced detriment) to stroking the 5.7 rather than going with the 6.1 block? I realize it may be a little soon to tell. If you'd still recommend the 6.1, what are the advantages it gives you other than the ability to go bigger? Just more aftermarket support?

All, thanks for the posts. When it comes to this stuff, I am still learning so I will tell you in advance I appreciate your patience as I start my learning experience here.
Haha....I knew nothing when I came over here, now pulling the whole car apart thanks to the help of these guys. That said, shit is not back together yet....
