Got any working pics? i'm looking @ the M/T's as well.

Also I want to keep them well under the fenders without any rolling up the lip.

Also I live down the road from "Weldcraft" Wheel Modders, how wide of a wheel can the SRT's take in the rear without issue?

They've quoted me $250 a wheel to widen them a 1/2 inch.

I've heard good things about the M/T's.  No personal experience.  I'm still running NT05's.

I just swapped my worn out NT05's for the M/T Street Comp tire as well.   Overall, very pleased with the ride and they were a lot easier for my guy to balance out.   With that said, these are not as sure footed as the NT05's were in both the dry or wet. Even when bald the NT05's had tremendous grip in dry and wet.  I have had to change my driving style on the back roads a bit with the M/T.

I suppose it is to be expected given the 100AA traction/wear rating of the Nitto's and 300AA rating of the M/T.  Hopefully the M/T's last more than the 18 months the Nittos had under their belt.  Hard to have your cake and eat too.

Thanks for updating the pics. These are the M/T ET street radial II's that's on the M/T site. Anybody using these for the rear? Anybody know how wide of a wheel I can use in the rear before clearance problems crop up?

I think $250 a wheel for 1/2" is a little too much for the result... I think cock enlargements are cheaper than that per inch. When I was looking at tires/ rims my guy said I'm pretty sure 285 would be MAX on a 9" rim to be safe

The top tire is the one I believe I'd heard good things about, RR.  Now that I'm looking at the lower one, I don't believe that's what they were running on the West Coast where the feedback was coming from.  They were also just running it on the rear so my thought for me was leave the NT05 275's in the front and run the M/T's in the rear to see how it goes.

Good input on the M/T's HEMI~C.  I can break the NT05's at will in street trim but other than the short life span of the rears, I think they're a pretty damn good tire and I agree I've had zero issues when I've been caught out in rain.  I've toasted one set already, put a good dent in a second set and I think I've got some spares around I'll go through as well (might just be fronts though now that I'm thinking about it...with all the TX Mile stuff the garage and shed started looking like a used tire store...sold the Yokahama Advan Sports to Kenny for his Mile adventures and finally got rid of the chrome clads with the INVO's to a local club member).

Ok Sam, now it's all starting to make a little more sense. Should I be able to use those M/T street II's (Top) on the rear along with F1's in the front, "which I already have new" without issue, or will I need a wider wheel in the rear?

The goal here is to keep the stock appearance of the OEM wheels. I'll send the rears down the road to get widened if need be.

I was pissed that BFG stopped making tires for us.  I just found out they started a new line and have had some pretty good reviews.

The link has tire racks info.  I can't remember where the other real time review is but I'll look.

If you can squeeze it in there they have a 315, 35, 20!

Looks to be real close to O.D.

My rear Invos are showing their age so I'll be needing something soon myself.  I was looking at the NTO5, but they don't offer a 295/35 or 295/40.  I may look in to a good fender rolling here but I'd rather avoid that if possible.

I'll take a look at those MT tires.  I could use a bit more grip on the street.

Those BFG's look pretty good, they even come in smaller sizes to fit the OEM SRT wheel. A little less than the M/T's but BFG are known for hard assed compound tires. Wish I knew someone that's tried them. The M/T's smallest wheel width is 10", Srt's are 9" & I don't like the bloated sidewall look.

A little follow up.

Got stuck in the rain today and was able to play around a little bit on my normal "test circuit".

The MT's have about 500 mile on them now and I found them to grip in the wet surprisingly well. I was able to take my normal high speed banked curve at a conservative 100ish MPH and the car stayed planted, no feeling of slip or wonder. Dry I've run the same curve at 130ish with zero issue on this tire.

Agressive tight corning was really good. No more slip then expected and they seemed to give a little warning before they let go. Not just a churp then slide. I could actually feel it. Very similar response to the feel as in dry condition but they obviously let go sooner.

They seem pretty close to being on par, street driving wise, as 05's that I took off, that is when the 05's were new to about 1/2 tread. Below 1/2 tread the 05's went to shit for grip. Can't answer to why as most have had success with them till nearly bald.

Braking was fantastic. They just dug in. A little more slip/ABS action then the 05's but they hung tight. FYI- current brakes can put you through the window if you're not belted in tight.

I'm looking forward to spring weather so I can run one of my favorite roads, 89A between Jerome and Prescot to see if they can really hang. It's about 30 miles of aggression relief. The 05's would just carve into the road. See what I mean below.

j2p_1.jpg

Take all this with a grain of salt as I am not a road racer. When I'm on a track, the only curve is 1320 feet away.

Durring my "testing" the road was wet but with out standing water and the rain was constant but not heavy. The front tires were at 30 pounds and the rears were at 28 at the start of the fun and games. Upon return, the heat build up bumped the pressure to 32 in the front and 29 in the rear.

When testing durring dry conditions on the same "course" at a higher rate of speed and agressive driving, the front tire pressure increased from 30 to 33 and the rears from 28 to 30.

My test course is 12.5 miles full loop.

Hope this helps.
