out of curiosity a couple of questions:

- does that price require a stock 5.7 shortblock as a core?  

- What's the expected power difference over the stock 5.7, unboosted?

- how does the comp 274 cam compare to the 392 cam?

That price does require your block as a core. You should see around 80 -100 hp with ported heads.

I will add that this engine is in stock at BFNY. It was delivered Friday so there is no waiting on the engine to be built.

Compression: 9.5:1

 

It could handle 1000hp

This camshaft alone has gained 100rwhp on two separate vehicles. One was NA and one had a Kenne Bell. I would say 80-100hp gain even with stock heads would be easy. I would upgrade the stock springs though.

Figure we would have the car for a week or so depending on OST's schedule for tuning. Of course thats just to drop in a shortblock. If we are doing a blower build the timeframe will be adjusted accordingly.

Once the money tree grows back this is exactly what I'll do. If this block + cam adds even 50hp to my existing setup, I'd add a few lbs boost and get me in the sweet spot, around 600whp.
