UPDATE!!!!!! Happy new years to all. Well, where do I start . It's been a long road to get the car finished but I now have it in hand. Picked it up about two months ago with two miles of street and dyno tuning and drove it to Vegas (550 miles round trip) for the break in. The drive up was great but on the way back the car back fired out the exhaust a couple times. Adam pulled the plugs and found every one of them were baked in oil.

John pulled the blower and found the problem. The intakes ports were full of oil. The heads from Dr J's were ported too thin and created pin holes at the top of the intake ports. Every pull on the dyno sucked oil out of the valve cover and into the intake ports. The heads were pulled and sent back to Bryce for repair BUT only came back worse. The welder over heated the heads and warped the valve guides.( My F.....N hero) Stu from Inertia Motorsports sent us a set of his big valve heads for the motor and all is good. I have 1659 miles on the motor and it's running great.

Flashback to the build... We did a small cement fill on the block to keep things in place. My concern was cooling being that I drive the car daily and road race it. I'm happy to report the cooling stays at 188-192 with the help of Evans Coolant.

Great to have this thread alive again, Started to wonder what happened with the build, Good to have you back Karl. Last time I spoke with Adam he said he was going to do a private track rental in Fontana for all his past customers, especially the newbies. Has he made any plans? Would be kind of fun to have a bunch of KB cars at the track..

California Speedway had street legal drags today so I took the car out. After loading up the gear I took the 80 mile drive and met up with the rest of the guys that came in for other cities. Adam wanted to make the first pass in the car to make sure everything was good. The tank was low on fuel so he only made the 330 before he got out of it. A couple cans of C16 were in the trailer so I dropped in 5gals. Taking advantage of the fuel adam added 4 more degrees of timing totaling 16. First pass was [email protected] . I took the car and made the second pass [email protected] Third pass [email protected]. My forth pass was [email protected] and fifth was [email protected]. I'll post the time slips after I remember how . Adam has the street tune set for the timing to ramp in, great for daily driving but crappy for 60ft. All of the 60s were 1.80-1.88 no matter how hard I pushed it. Track prep was great for the slicks, dead hook on every pass.


The car will have the race tune in it for the track rental on the 16th. I'll post info/time slips as I go.
