As long as you dont break a rod, aluminum blocks are easier to repair than iron blocks. Aluminum blocks have $50 sleeves that can be pulled out and replaced as needed. With an iron block you can only rebuild so many times.

boom! like that bit of info too, a little solice in the event of a rebuild on a aluminum block, very nice, thanks

The more I read and the more I experience, I dont think rod-ratio is as critical as most once thought. I would rather have a shorter rod if it meant keeping the wrist pin out of the oil ring groove. I am playing around with some cool new combinations right now. Mani has a pretty cool motor being built for his car

Cool... Thanks.

I think Erik ran a 426 for about 100,000 miles and countless track days.. Can't complain about that sort of longevity, no matter what it looked like when it came apart.

there is no competition.

Signature worthy right there

Andy, you're saying that the greater volume of more CID outpaces the faster rev of a smaller motor when it comes to spooling up turbos?  Is there is a formula or rule of thumb?

So, what you are saying is that 7000 rpm on a 5.7 based 4.08 stroke with a 1200 cfm centri blower is not a good idea?
