I'll keep it short. Tried to contact Arrington last week but haven't heard back yet. I have a 3.2 pulley and I am getting 6 psi on my Magnuson. I pretty much expected that with all the airflow mods the car has. I'm assuming a 3 inch would give me 8 psi. Am I correct in my thinking? 

 

Also, I need a custom tune but wanted the right pulley first. Should I let the tuner adjust the stock tune first or am I good to put the smaller pulley on now? I won't go WOT without the custom tune, just normal driving.

3.0 should be close to 8 psi if 3.2 is giving you 6.  I have a 3.0 and I'm getting 9 psi with shorty headers, no cats and an unrestrictive air filter.

 

Which tune do you have?  If you have a wideband, your current tune may be scaled to handle the extra boost.

On my stock 6.1L, I was getting 7 pounds with a 3.1" pulley.  Not sure about your setup but a 3.0" should put you about where you want to be.

 

You could go ahead and install the smaller pulley before having a custom tune done but not only will you want to stay away from WOT, you will want to be careful with part throttle boost as well (unless you have a fair deal of confidence in the Arrington tune).

Yup. That's what I get on my 5.7 with the 3.2.
