No worries. There's a break in discussion here, Debbie.

http://modernmoparfo..._hl__+break +in

There is a formal break in period detailed in the Owner's Manual. Page 71 in mine. Here is what it says.

ENGINE BREAK-IN RECOMMENDATIONS
A long break-in period is not required for the drivetrain
(engine, transmission, clutch, and rear axle) in your new
vehicle.

Drive moderately during the first 500 mi (800 km). After
the initial 60 mi (100 km), speeds up to 50 or 55 mph (80
or 90 km/h) are desirable.

While cruising, brief full-throttle acceleration within the
limits of local traffic laws contributes to a good break-in.
However, wide-open throttle acceleration in low gear can
be detrimental and should be avoided.

Break in is pretty lax, as you can see. I wouldn't worry about it much - lots of full throttle operation during the first 500 miles is good for the engine, per Dodge as long as it is "within the limits of local traffic laws" - or not. lol Heck, my R/T hit the 142.5 mph speed limiter several times the first day I owned her. Under controlled conditions, of course.

Nice to see your ride on the road to recovery Debbie. I was thinking the same thing Jay was thinking about the forged motor. Motor is out... time for some upgrades! Hmmmm 3200 stall torque convertor (pic shows tranny wide open). Not much labour there. SRT headers and mids!!! Go for it girl!!!

BTW... I got a chuckle from the words above your Avatar. I gotta remember that one!

Best of Luck Deb!

Picked up my car this morning runs good as far as I can tell...NO smoke!! The bad news is they did some damage in the process... Looks as if it will be getting a new front bumper and the driverside fender repainted.... They told me to take it to their paint n body shop and they will fix it.... It sux but if it's the worse news I get this week I will feel blesses!!! Needless to say I've had a really BAD week! Will try to add pictures later...

With the engine hoist and nicking the top edge of the fender against the bottom of the motor...that's if they went thru the top for the install...also scuff my painted fuse box cover and nicked up the black piece between the windshield and motor. Wasn't feeling well when I went to get it and John the manager wasn't there. I will take it back next week and talk to him... He will take care of it.... I'm certain... will post pix when my cell charges!

Glad you're back on the road Deb. It astonishes me why they would come out the top. Chuck and I were talking at CF3 about how they come out the bottom with the proper hoist and a handful of bolts and dropping the entire thing from underneath.

Great talking to ya again, sorry I killed your phones battery tho, haha! Looks like they gave here a complete longblock but why corp sent a shortblock, then heads etc is a mystery to me. Should be no prob getting the damage fixed and never know MAY get the 11up nose this time but the dealer really seems to be one of the few GOOD ones, you are kinda lucky that way seems. Hope I could ease your stress over that, breakin, and your new worries now and talked to Jerri right after and she agrees with me/U bout the "worst case scenario" so try not to worry sis enjoy life, well as ya always do and just try NOT ta smile...... Can't do it, huh!
