#387428 Bolt-in Harness Bar 08-14 Challenger Now Available!

Posted by SRT8U on 24 July 2014 - 11:43 PM

Hmmm, don't want to be a debby downer, but wouldn't it be dangerous to have a 5 pt. harness on without a cage? If you rolled the vehicle the harness would keep you in an upright position when the roof crushed down on your head, breaking your neck.

A roll cage is the only thing that will strengthen the roof beyond the factory limits, harness bar is not intended to provide rollover protection. If you plan on hardcore track time with any vehicle a roll cage is what you need.

These are extremely common mods for most other high performance platforms. Mustang, Corvette, Camaro, Porsche, the list goes, on. Very popular mod, common product, widely used, we just have not had an option for our platform until now. I am surprised that so many of you guys are unfamiliar with them.

#387419 Bolt-in Harness Bar 08-14 Challenger Now Available!

Posted by SRT8U on 24 July 2014 - 09:29 PM

While interesting what is the purpose or application for it? Is there a racing organization that requires a harness but not a roll bar? Does it provide more crash protection than the factory shoulder and lap belts? Or is it basically just something to make a street geek feel like a race car driver?

Very common mod for other platforms, so surprised you guys haven't heard of this mod
Well it is a harness bar, so it is for people that would like to install harnesses in their car without having to go through putting in a full cage. If you do track days or autocross, and don't want or need the expense and intrusion of a full cage, this allows using harnesses. If you have a street driven car and don't Want to hack up the interior, and want to track your car on the weekends, this is a great mod. The design requires no modification to the interior, the bar is also removable if needed. If you have ever tracked your car on a road course or autocross, you would understand how nice it would be having 5 point harnesses vs shoulder belts. You move around quite a bit and for longer periods of time, it isn't like drag racing where you sit in the seat for a few seconds.

And yes 5 point harnesses provide better protection than 3 point lap belts, probably why race cars use them eh?

This is something you have been asking about for a long time, and we finally have the answer! A true plug and play bolt in harness bar for your Challenger, which allows the installation of 5 point racing harnesses. The best part is it can be installed without any modification to the interior or seats.

15 years of designing and building parts is and always has been both
rewarding and challenging. Sometimes the challenges are extra rewarding,
case in point, our new Razors Edge Dodge Challenger Harness bar. While
sitting in a meeting room at Chrysler Headquarters in Auburn Hills MI.
enjoying some friendly banter with a few engineers about chassis parts,
they presented the challenge. "We'd like to see a bolt in harness bar
that is truly bolt in, no cutting or altering the interior". Our
engineer and fabricator looked at each other and said "you're on". Now
almost a year later we won. The result is a completely bolt in 4130
Cro-moly harness bar that utilizes existing locations within the car for
mounting, fits with the back seat in place or with one of our rear seat
delete kits. The main hoop and down tubes can be quickly and easily
removed to allow full access and use of the back seat. It's rattle free
and adjustable. Hours of FEA testing have gone into this part to insure
the safest design possible as well as providing a big increase in
chassis rigidity.

Available in wrinkle black or gloss black, white, red, yellow or silver powdercoat finish. Paint match is also available.

#381397 Oem Srt Brembo Caliper Package

Posted by SRT8U on 20 June 2014 - 08:22 PM

Well, I never did either until I saw your price of $1,400 for 4 calipers.
I'm sure they are not "Mopar" Parts, but replacements / remans...I'm trying to understand if there is something special about what you are selling other than NIB OEM stuff, with a nice finish. For a daily driver, Reman gray works just fine if I'm looking for functionality without the shine. Not hating, just trying to understand the diff in price especially since "Mopar" is nothing more than a marketing up charge IMO.

Thanks for posting the list.

Remanufactured vs new, the autozones are used calipers that have been Remanufactured, they don't appear to be coated either. So no comparison, not the same as a brand new from the factory oem part, hence the difference in pricing. Same reason a new Challenger SRT is 50k but a ore owned one can be found for 35k.

#305872 New: Tubular Adjustable Front Control Arms

Posted by SRT8U on 21 July 2013 - 08:25 AM

Those A-arms look better than the eibach ones that I have.
Stevo

Ditto, I have the Eibach/spc ones on my 06, they work fine for adjustability, and were the only option until now. One issue I and others had with that design was the way the adjustment was made, via a slot at the end of the arm using the ball joint to do he adjusting. Just not a great design IMO.
With these you get a stringer and lighter part due to chromoly construction, and a much better engineered piece, using threaded arms to adjust. Also the ball joint is serviceable and replaceable on these arms which is nice if ever needed. Also American made vs chinese

#298366 Motor Mount Suggestions

Posted by SRT8U on 23 June 2013 - 03:15 PM

The 6 speed mounts seem to do the trick for most folks
You can see those here
http://www.speedlogi...p/bmcp-6smm.htm

We also have our solid mounts, these ave gotten great reviews as well, but definitely will translate more of the engine vibration as well.
You can see all that info here
http://www.speedlogi...sx-smm-5761.htm

Both are in stock, just depends what you are looking for, both will work for your situation.
