  1. So i grew some balls and decided to just drill it. Thankfully using that factory "pilot hole", i just marked the depth of the old hole and went for it with my drill. Both holes met up perfectly. Piece of cake if anyone is wondering if they could do it. Just stay straight and take your time.
  2. Hey, im rebuilding my Chrysler 300 5.7. I replaced the pistons rings and heads. I clocked my rings when installing. Now that i have my drivers side head on i decided (for fun) to do a dry compression test in cyl 1. I installed the compression tester in one plug hole (one plug in of course) and hand cranked the engine. I was thinking hand cranking wouldnt be able to build enough pressure, but then continued to think if its air tight, technically i SHOULD get the same amount of compression. I only got 40 psi. So i was happy when i saw the needle rise, then scared when thats all i got. This is my forst build, so am i just so new that i dont realize i wont get compression with hand cranking? Or is it (hopefully) the fact that there is absolutely NO OIL in the engine to seal everything up? Any info would help. Im asking now because if i have to tear it back down, i dont want to get the other head on for no reason. I also did the same to cyl 3, and got same readings. Thanks!
  3. Thanks! Will check it out today
  4. Looking to see if any builders or modders out there have played with the non EGR heads and tried adapting for EGR? My issue is i have a 300c 5.7, and had 3 dropped valve seats. Pistons and heads are toast. Got a set of heads but are off a ram. I already drilled and tapped the power steering pump mounting holes but now i have to deal with the EGR issue. I am opting on keeping EGR for two reasons, first being i am trying to sell the car once together again, and want no CEL codes thrown, and secondly, after researching ive found that the risk of detonation and further engine problems outweighs the want to just delete it, so its staying. Yes i know a predator tuner can manage this but i still want to keep egr. Now that the backstory is done, the non egr heads have an egr hole, but is not fully drilled. Can i drill straight through myself? Will it lead me directly to the exhaust port (where i believe the egr sources its gasses, or is the hole not straight? I know i can use my destroyed heads as a reference, but i dont have the proper tools to be able to measure the path of the egr hole. Any help would be great, and anyone that HAS done it, have you had any issues? Thanks!
