Was that car "tuned" before the cam went in? If not then it does make more sense as 25 rwhp can be achieved by just a custom tune.

So that's another one showing a nice gain with a 392 cam. Hmmmmmm.

Wish I could have dyno'd mine with just the cam.

Ive seen 30 myself.. I honestly was quite shocked to see 60. My tuner has done plenty of these cams and he agreed that he is never seen that much of a gain. But good for Brian He must of found something the rest of us haven't.

Mopar Medic claimed to have a 392 cam in his KB 5.7 and said he gained 60 on the dyno. His is supercharged though. Didn't Mike at OST say he saw a good bump from these as well? I may be mixing things up but I coulda sworn he said he could advance the cam in the tune as well.

apples and oranges dont ya think? On a side not why note add 60 hp with just a pulley swap? Much cheaper I would imagine..

I don't know why your splitting hairs on this, maybe because you guys couldn't get 60RWHP out of your installs? Regardless, I just originally said this is another case showing good gains, I never said "hey here's another drop in 392 cam on a 5.7 that picked up 60RWHP". This is the most I've seen on a standard non blown motor. I've heard from more than one place the 392 cam works a LOT better on supercharged cars than NA but have not seen a back to back NA vs. Supercharged comparision other than Sean and Phil at CF4. Phil picked up some good torque if memory serves, but only a few horse power. He was on the stock tune though, and Sean was having some weird knock issues that were later resolved so the data isn't really valid.
As for why not add a pulley, you'd have to ask MoparMedic but my guess is he's at 8psi and on a stock motor and doesn't wanna blow it up.

Once the knk issue was resolved, my car, at 6-7lbs of boost, with the 6.4 cam made 477/448. Best prior to that was around 34X/37X on the same dyno. There appears to be a lot of evidence now that this is a worthwhile mod. To answer the earlier question, Brian (the OP) put cost in an earlier post. The 6.4 cam is the inexpensive part, most other cam options are significantly more....install and tune are going to be roughly the same no matter what cam you choose, and I haven't seen a lot of data out there on the other VVT options, however other folks may know more about that.
Again, nice work Brian.

The only other VVT option I'm aware of is the COMP VVT cam that's like $800 with a phase limiter and is a bear to tune. Makes great power if it can be tuned properly though but it sure better for the price. The tuning is so tricky Mike charges by the hour to tune one of those. The cam is about $55 at my local dealer so it's cheap. The typical buyer will also need valve springs. I'm not sure how much those cost. Then the install labor if you're not doing it yourself. It's not super cheap for 40 - 60 RWHP after all is said and done, but not super expensive either.
I've been considering one for a while since I already have upgraded valve springs. For me it'd just be pulling the front cover and swapping the cams. I've just been waiting to see if anything else would be coming. Here we are coming up on 5 years with the VVT cars and now ALL of them are VVT and we're still not seeing much.

What are the details on the three you've done? Can you share the specs and power output? Anything for my 6.0?
