Yes it is. Right up at the front. at the top with electrical connection and one bolt I believe. I was doing a warranty Maggie install at the time so I killed two birds with one stone. Yeah... I guess I should have mentioned that before I said it was easy (Maggie was off at the time).

Dave... you can pull the intake yourself. It is easy to do. Get fresh gaskets while you are at it.

thats ok,  been a long dam time since I pulled an intake on a motor, and the last one was an old chevy, .back cant handle much leaning over a fender for long.  plus with the shaker scoop assembly that has to be pulled,  I just wouldn't trust my self with working on one of the modern motors.  it aint like the old days, when you could build a motor in a few hours.

when you say easy, I look at it as WTF have I gotten myself into, and fuck something up.

Just ran my VIN.

I am on the recall list. I already have the parts which I purchased from eastcoastmoparts.

I guess I will fax a copy of the invoice to Jill. Will they pay for the parts if a Chrysler tech is not doing the job?

Thanks for all of your leg work on this Greg. It's appreciated.

Just got my recall today for the timing chain, tensioner and guide. Called the service manager at the dealership and setup the install for next week. He is aware of the vortech blower so it might cost me in his tech time. There is no reflash of PCM. My car has a forged 5.7 392 built by Arrington. I talked to Arrington thinking maybe the timing chain was upgraded with the build but they used my stock one. Alex said the only timing chain in 2011 when the build occurred was the stock timing chain set. Just what I need 4 weeks out from CF5. You guys need to be ready. Good luck.

Guys, I had Arrington do the work last year , including some parts that were not on the recall. Cost was $400 +. Jill sent  a check for all the parts and labor.

really no question about it. not sure if they would do all that outside of Dodge  after the recall and the extra parts.

it was for me at the time the right thing to do and it worked out great.

here are the parts that Arrington replaced that are not on the recall: timing gear, timing chain sprocket , and (part that has failed on many cars) oil control solenoid-which has reportedly had screen failures.  they paid for all that on my repair at Arrington. hope y'all get it worked out.

Just got my recall letter yesterday.  Called dealer today which they had no clue and this was the first that they have heard of it.  They would call to see about getting the parts.  They were not sure when they would be able to get the parts.  He mentioned that customers gets  notice prior to dealers and sometimes the parts are shipped to dealers and they only receive so many if they are even availabe.  I mentioned about getting it done prior to traveling to CF5 and he mentioned it might not be possible if he was unable to obtain the parts.  I questioned about what would happen if it broke prior to them getting the parts, his reply was that Chyrler would pay for all the damages.

don't worry about a failure , the odds of that now to cf5 are remote. I would more worry about a dealership that has not done one of these. some places have already done 4 - 5 of these . I would find a dealership who have done some of these before I would be the first or the second. there have been failures on the same car at the same dealership.  also look at the other parts that they are not replacing and ask them to do that also, especially the oil control solenoid-which has reportedly had screen failures. just sayin.. CK.

Plum,

I would push the service manager to get it done. I called dealer today he said they just completed a 300 today. He called me back 30 mins later and will have the parts by Tuesday next week and install Weds. So much for feeling safe with a Forged engine when it has a stock timing chain. I know I talked about an upgraded timing chain prior to my build and that was before anyone had broke one. Just thought I had one till I called Arrington. Good thing I did. I only have 5000 miles on the build and 9000 miles on the drive train.

His number is (866) 798-9566. At least you'll know they done two 5.7. They've done some routine work on my RT. I trust him.

plum find a place that did them more than once, just sayin some of the techs are just , well  not qualified . find a dealership that has had some practice. . and look into the oil solenoid . the screens are reported to fail... like fall off.  good luck.

I would trust some one who did some before ^^^ this would work. just don't be the first. and ask about the oil control solenoid.. night.

got my recall today,  I don't trust any dealers here in Oklahoma city to work on my car.  David Stanley dodge bent the door jams replacing the cracked rocker panels.  whos to trust to fix it ?    I would haul in someplace trustworthy ?

I had the fortunate  availability to get it done at Arrington. I don't think they (dodge)would cover it now at other than a dodge dealership.  maybe some folks can recommend a competent dealership in your neighborhood. good luck.

Now my son just got his recall for his 2011 challenger.   we turned off the mds on both our cars as soon as we got em.  looks like its just challengers.  why not the chargers and others.   even my ram pickup should be the same bad parts
