Most here are aware of the things that I did for my previous employer, and a few here know of ALL of the things that I did there. I have no intentions of starting down a new career path.

Arrington is supposed to be using my car to develop their stand alone system to a 2.8KB. I took my car there in April of this year. After an unsuccessful VMP I dropped the car back off at API. Its now late December and I still don't have my car back.
Now to how it got there....
Most everyone knows I was having issues with belts but here is a little background.
Originally the car came with Mr Norms 8 rib setup. I had some problems with it so we decided to trade it to Jason for Cam's stand alone system. Jason had purchased Cam's setup from John Lewis. John had run the setup without any issues.
With this stand alone I was having issues eating and throwing belts. Both myself and AMP tried several things to try and resolve the issue. We contacted Cam and got some help but he was busy with other projects. I waited for awhile but in the end decided to move on. I didn't purchase this directly from Cam so felt he had to obligation to me. Sure I wish we could have resolved it then but I knew he had bigger things going on.
Scott and Jon at Amp and myself tried several times to solve the issues but come race day the belts went flying or got eaten. This happened at Bradenton and also after the long haul to CF5.
After I got back from CF5 the plan was to take everything apart and do a fresh install. So I found a KB install manual and started reading it. I discovered I was missing the “L” bracket that squares the snout support to the block. The manual clearly states that without this you will have belt issues. BINGO I fucking thought, this will solve my problems. Remember we had tried everything we could think of prior to this. I was pretty sure it was a simple fix and just something we were missing.
After discussing this with Scott and not hearing that this would solve the problem I decided to abandon this stand alone setup and take my car to Arrington. I was fed up and tired of having new spacers made and trying different things all to no avail. I just wanted to go racing.
API had told me they were looking to get a 2.8KB car inhouse to develop their stand alone on. API being an authorized KB installer and with all the resources at their disposal I thought this would be my best bet to make VMP.
Both Eric and AJ had looked at the car at CF5 so I felt confident that they knew what they were getting into with my car.
I specifically asked Eric during a phone call how they would get around Cam's spacer and he eluded to the design of the pulley itself. They had shown me the pulley on the 3.6 KB stand alone.
The pulley itself made up for the distance the snout would have to be extended on the 3.6 stand alone setup.
Eric had also mentioned that they needed a new snout shaft as Cam had modified his. Since they were developing this kit for the masses and my setup was basically a one of, I ordered a new shaft from KB and sent it to them.
Imagine to my surprise when I went to pickup the car before VMP and see the first thing I see is a frayed belt and then I see Cam's spacer has been cut down but its still on the car. I voiced my concerns to Eric but was assured that it would run well.
I paid them what I was told would be my total out of pocket expense and off to VMP I went.
After an unsuccessful VMP I dropped the car back off at API. I told them that I signed up for API's stand alone system and not a hacked up joint venture. They agreed to make it right.
Now I've been very patient and understanding but this needs to get resolved.
I hope this answers some of the things brought to attention in this thread. I probably should start my own thread on this adventure but have been trying to hold off because its liable to get ugly.

Tony, I can't speak on Arrington's behalf but I will tell you that Joe put one hell-of-a 10 rib pulley setup on your blue beast. I was actually in the chassis dyno filming it during its runs with the new setup. It blew our minds that it was still slipping! I would SO be putting a cog system on that thing at this point. I hope they get it figured out for your soon, sir.

Why would a 426 make 600 or so RWHP need a cog system? It certainly didn't need one before as there was NO belt slip. There was an alignment issue but no slip... I know you are not there anymore so you prob don't know the answer So Im just making more of a statement then actually asking you a question.. Maybe someone much smarter then me can answer that..

One of the benefits of Cam's system was the screw type adjustable idler pulley. I'm no engineer but I think something like that would be very useful.
Anyway, when the new pulley is finished so am I.

Here I go... I know I am not a contributing member to this forum; however, I do spend a lot of time on this forum reading those topics that are posted by the members who seem to contribute the most. This is no bullshit forum and one that can be appreciated because it contains the most educated members when it comes to our cars... Now I have spent the last hour reading (bullshit) post about API/ShopHemi/Arrington because their disposition affects me and the direction I am going with my car... You see, I had Arrington build me a low boost 6.4/426 stroker motor about a year ago that supposedly put out 675 RWHP... The problem is that once the car was placed on a dyno here (in Oklahoma) it only put out 550RWHP and ran an embarrassing (to me) 12.5 sec 1/4 mile at 114 MPH at the track. Now, I will say that it took me around 11 months and 3k miles before I was able to get the car to the track after the build, that I understand not all dynos are calibrated the same and that I could possibly be having issues that are out of Arrington’s hands. But, what I am most pissed about with this whole situation is the fact that I have called Eric numerous times since October of this year and not heard back from him yet! Maybe 17K isn’t a lot of money to you guys but in my line of work it certainly deserves a fucking phone call back… I will add that Wyatt over there has returned my calls but has been unsuccessful in helping me out.
This post isn’t to put Arrington on blast or detour future clients but is intended to better inform you guys of what’s going on over there. I still plan to use this company but not if I can’t get a ring back.
