Did you do anything different to the rear than you had in the past? Suspension change of any sort or just went out and hammered on nit and things held together this time?
So bad ass man.

Mani posted on Facebook that he launched at 5900 RPM. That's right at the redline on the stock R/T tach - lol He wasn't holding much back, that's for sure. Must have been great traction at that track.

thanks guys.

Rob all i did was rotate my tires in the rear, lower the pressure to 11 psi, and hold on for holy hell while doing 5900 rpm launches.

the launch was definately hard to get used to, with the magnacharger setup, it was easy as the maggy had great low end tq to get out of the hole. With the procharger, it really lets you use the motor to get out of the hole, so i found my self revving higher and higher just to get out of the hole without bogging.

the only difference in my rear end are the clutch packs, and ive heli coiled the case and used the proper 12.9 hardware to hold it together.

it really is a handfull though, i tried power shifting once and it blew the tires off in 3rd. i dont think ill try to power shift again till i get my rim/tire combo sorted out.

i also know that i destroyed my hoosiers, was looking at them today, and first off they dont hold air any more. i pumped one up and soaped it, its leaking nicely along the whole bead. so i have a feeling the beads might have torn apart.

i guess from here ill have to get my racestar rear wheels on the car and screw the tires to the rim.

but im as happy in a pig in shit it was definately a fun day yesterday especially when you have 3 modern mopar cars that haul ass! Kent was rocking out with an 11.23 on his PWR 426 and Andre laid down a 10.5@13X in his magnacharged 426. im also glad these guys were out there to stop me from breaking my car, i had the urge to go out and keep trying to go faster.

the car Still has ALOT left in it, im only at 14 psi and still shifting like a granny, Kent, Andre and i were talking and i think next years goal is a 10.50.

Thanks again everyone for the comments means a lot. !!

and to the fact that mmf had a badass day yesterday

Karl beats his record
Rob hits 9's
Kent sets a [email protected]
Andre @ 10.5

and speedy.....hurry up and get to the 10's its nice and warm here lol.

Going to a 15" could be something for you to look into. Opens up a bunch of options on tires and wheels.

5900 :o that takes some dedication to the throttle peddle.

MMF sure did have a good day, and many more to come this fall.

mani,

You like the swishy ass feeling all the way down the track with the slicks so low :D

I found I was running 12-13psi in the slicks when I was using a bad gauge. I was marking the tires / wheels with a crayon (I could see an inch of rotation over a day) and you're def spinning the rim inside the slicks....that's what tore them up. I leave the hole at 3500 - 4k rpm and ease in as that's all the traction I could find with track prep and more importantly my suspension leaving with a 3.73 gear (after I took out the 3.92), soon to be a 3.55 for the Mile, so I'm pretty confident you simply need the screwed in slicks like you stated.

Did you try pulling the roll bar so it would squat? I'm assuming so....something I haven't tried yet but I saw friends here have a lot of luck with that at CF3. Maybe one of these days I'll pull the road race suspension but I have a hard time getting my head around drag shocks/springs and giving up the big brake kit for big slicks.

Welcome to the club, brother. I'm sure we'll have more company soon. Now you got the bulls eye on your back...kinda refreshing.

Sammo.... pulling the "Roll Bar?"

You mean "Rear Sway Bar".... right? Not trying to be a prick here... for a moment there you had me scratching my head... WTF... Roll bar? lol

Yupp...pulling the front sway bar as well will get the front end to rise easier as well.

Meanwhile in Mississauga, Ontario... Mani his underneath his ride and "torching out" is front and rear sway bars!!
lol

Mani.... time to join Phil and swap in a 4.56 cog in the ass of your ride. lol

im seriously considering the 15" setup. But i think im going to try a different rim with a screwed in tire and see what that does.

5900 was my 10.80 run, was looking at the log and i left the line at 5860

Thanks bud! the top end definately could use a second power adder.

Sam it scared me the first time, i thought i was sliding but an onlooker told me that there was no skid, it was just my tires. ill post a pic of the launch tomorrow, the traack photographer got a good shot of me wrinkling the tires.

sway bars were still connected and functioning, im thinking i might pull it for the next outing, just to see what happens. im in love with my KW suspension, so i dont think i could part with it, even for a day

yeah... i guess im the new target, hopefully speedy can beat me before the season ends.

Sammo.... pulling the "Roll Bar?"

You mean "Rear Sway Bar"....

Same thing. They are called both. Anti-roll bar is what they were called in the day. Anti-sway as well. Now the Anti is dropped and are just roll or sway bars.

Stevo - What Sean said, Stevo. Colloquialism in the States. Front sway bar...that's what I meant.

Yeah, mani. It's an unsettling feeling going all the way down the track with your arse end swimming. With my suspension, the front wants to track with the rear so I figure we run a quarter mile plus a 100 yards :D

All right Bud... Now that you've had a chance to enjoy your record for 24 hours... Awesome job by the way...

You knew I'd have to post these

I really enjoyed getting my personal best yesterday (I was car #63), but the best part about these 4 slips is that car #62 in the other lane was Manny. The races were great and two of them were within a fender length (3/100ths and 4/100ths of a second). I had a blast.

This PWR NA 426 is strong. Real strong...
