Petty's Garage Ds Loop And G-force 4" Ds - Clearance Issues?

I heard there are clearance issues with having these two together, especially when cornering, there can be contact.

Anyone have this issue....and a solution? Should I look at a different DS loop?

FYI, I just got an email from Petty's Garage directly that currently the loop will only handle up to a 3.5" DS, but to keep an eye on the website... GREAT response time from them which is awesome.

I need another solution in the meantime though...

I guess this will work for all of you out there with a 3.5" shaft! :)

Possible to use the mount (triangle) and fabricate a larger loop to handle a larger DS?

Stevo

Thats what I suggested. Wouldn't be a difficult fab at all.

I had to modify mine when I went to the Carbon Fiber shaft. when I get wheel hop now and then it still touches ever so slightly. You can feel it in the shifter.

Old thread.. I am trying to get my petty loop and DSS one piece aluminum to work together on my 6 speed. Any pictures or tips on modifying it to work? I would just use the competition engineering one that I know fits but my trans wasn't drilled for the mounts

I think even with a bigger loop it will still hit the bottom of the driveshaft on the loop mounting plate.

I've been through the mill on DS loops. I had the first Petty's. When I went to a Chromoly DSS, It didn't fit. Sent dimensions to Petty's and they modified their design to fit it. So I bought another. Then went to the 9" and swapped to a 4" Aluminum. Again didn't fit. sold the second one to Kenny with my DSS shaft. Ordered one of the ones from HHP that were supposed to fit this combo. Of course didn't fit.

I have decided to go with my existing Corsa DS enclosure. With the 4" aluminum, the clearance with the tunnel and exhaust is so tight that there is simply no place for it to go. If the tech guy want to get under the car and look, then go for it. You can't even see the DS at the front.
