Oil Squirters... A Must??

So I got a new 6.4 block to work with and want to here the facts on if I really need the oil squirters.

The block is new with a rough bore of @3.90 it also left the factory with out the oil squirter holes being machined. I can add them as the casting is there for them.

My plans are to run the factory 6.4 crank and as small of a piston as possible while using apache heads and run @15lbs of boost on it. I know many have 5.7 builds with high boost and the 5.7 lacks the squirter and the ability to have them added and I know a large stroke crank in the 6.4 means plugging the holes. So what I want opinions on is being that I plan to run a stock crank is it really important to add the squirters.

I went to great length to retain my squirters with a 4.05 crank. You can get pistons now with reliefs in the skirts for them from Wiseco and I think Diamond. My engine is gonna be beat to death on a Road Course so I know they will be a benefit. A strip engine just doesnt see the constant duty enough to justify them, unless its a mile shootout airstrip type deal.

This build will be for 95% street use. Early planning and thought stage at this point but all opinions are welcome.

Also if by chance anyone has a blueprint for the exact locations should I install them that would be great, I have a set of prints for the aluminum blocks but it lacks the info I need.

It's a little more work but I would run them, They cool the piston which means more boost without detonation, and they will lube the wrist pins for less wear, specialty on the street.

Every stroker motor we have seen from OTHER vendors that said they left them in usually end up redirecting them in the wrong direction for clearance . So they are useless anyways

We tried our darndest to leave the squirters in my stroker motor.… There's a reason Arrow makes the plugs.

There is another method. On my previous aluminum motor there was a oil passage drilled through the mains with like a nitrous jet on top that directed a oil stream to the bottom of the piston. It was a lot of messing around. It's really not worth the effort.

I agree Dave, I paid close attention to trajectory on mine and they don't hit the wall unless the piston is removed at TDC.

Even after the squirter mods I still had to add reliefs to the piston skirts.

I had a olds motor done to oil though the main cap, I was looking at the block and Im not real sure that the way the casting is if it will allow for that route.

Obviously I wont have a issue with clearance so I guess I better look into having the machine work done.
