Dr's For Street Wheels

So a bunch of us in our car club (NM challenger club) are trying to come up with some Street DR's to run on our street wheels.

We mostly have RT's and SRT's with 20 inch/ 8.5 to 10 inch wide wheels. The HC guys have all settled on MT ET2's.

A couple of guys are running the Nitto street DR's on their RT's and SRT's with some success. Are the MT street SS any better? It doesn't look like M&H offers anything for 20 inch rims.

I have a set of 17's with M&H DR's but would like some Street DR's to run in the summer time for those day's when I get off work but don't have time to run home and change wheels.

Suggestions?.......... B)

MT is the best performing tire but tread life is minimal. The ET2 is on its way out and the SS is replacing it.

Any Idea why the ET2 is going out? Does the ET Street SS have a longer thread life?

Just got some MT SS drag radials last week. Waiting for the wheels to get here before I can run them, but they look damn good.

I'd love to hear see comparisons of the MT SS and the Nitto 555R.

MTs hook a lot better all around. The SS is a new tread design with the same compound as the ET2. They are not making the ET or ET2 and moved to the ETR & ETSS

From MT:

D.O.T. approved for street use.

Equivalent Tread Void as the ET Street Radial II, redistributed for improved hydroplane resistance while providing plenty of tread contact for excellent dry traction.

Proven R2 compound, the same proven compound used on the quickest "drag radials" on the planet provides superior traction at the strip while little or no burnout required.

Tubeless construction provides lead-free seal without the expense and hassle of tubes.
