Heads, Cam Swap. What Else Should I Change

Next week car goes in to Jim at True Street for heads and cam. I've been meaning to ask him but keep forgetting, but is there anything else I should be looking at changing while doing this? For example is there a timing chain and or gear set upgrade, high performance oil pump, or anything else while the cam is out and heads off? Lifters and push rods are being done.

Your car get the timing chain recall notice/upgrade? If not, get it done with the improved set. If it is not part of the recall, you are good with the stocker.

Maggie/Whipple would be nice.

Headers/high flow cats/no cats.

I could go on.... but.... you know.... spending other peoples money. lol

send the bill for the timing chain to dodge , i did and they will pay. saves you $$ for the dick Blower. :D

to be honest with you, i would recommend a blower first and whatever you need to get that done(i'm sure others here may argue but the blower will give you the best HP/TQ per dollar, in my opinion), then add the other stuff as $$ allow.

i drove Eric's(Arrington, when he was there) car with only a blower and it was great and probably the best spent $$.

i appreciate the good info on the T/C. Heads/ cam go on this week that's why I was looking to pick ones' brain about anything else that should be swapped out for a stronger or better performing part. Thanks CruzKing.

I've read that the stock timing chain tensioner is made of plastic & will fail eventually, so you may as well change it to a steel tensioner.

Does not apply to the 392s. Only A5 2008 to 2013 RTs had the P01 recall.

Pistons!!!! Pistons are very thin and weak on the 392. I cracked mine on a stock engine with an intake. And if you do pistons might as well add rods. Modern muscle extreme sells these for a good price.
