Poly Rear Subframe Bushing Issue

I dropped the rear cradle in my 2009 challenger srt8 6 spd to install prothane polyurethane rear cradle bushings I pressed in the rear set and went to install the front two and they seem to be to large for the holes approximately 3mm according to my calipers has anyone had this issue

Oh that sucks. I don't think this will work but maybe freeze them.

Now had you gone with the solid bushes. That moron who invented them accounted for al those types of irregularities.

Just saying. :P

Btw, are you sure on that measurement. Depending on where you measure the diameter I have seen variances of .04-.05 so you might also try feathering a taper on the leading edge of the bush and trying again with a liberal amount of silicon spray.

Thanks for your reply, ya I'm wishing I would have went with solids now but, I did freeze them last night no luck on shrinkage . I did also think about tapering the edges I'm glad someone else mentioned it because I was a little worried about messing with the structural integrity of the bushings but I will probably go that route next. On a side note they didn't change the cradle at all in the lx/lc cars over the years did they ?

Well they did but nothing that impacts the bush aspects. The changes were driven by cracking. Also no issues with the taper. I wouldn't hesitate to do up too the first 3/4". It's job is more or less the crush and stay put and you'll have plenty of circumference to accomplish that even with that little bit gone. It's not like you need to create a 1/4" of space or nothing, just enough to get it started straight to the bore. Just make sure you lube the shit out of it.
