ok i will try to keep this short if possible

i pulled out my motor last yr. built it up. pistons rods ect ect. this is a 09 6.1 6speed car. i have ran into issues and have corrected them. not this latest issue has me confused and mad.

i had someone tune the car via email over the last 4 months.. i took the car to someone to dyno tune it last week. now when driving down the road you can feel the car stumble at say 1800 - what ever rpm. if you watch the afr you see it goes all over the place when this happens.. does it ALOT at the same time the tuner that i took it to to dyno tune it noticed that the front o2 sensors are shutting off for a brief second. he asked what sensors i had i told him he said put in factory new ones.. did that yesterday.. didn't change anything..

I really really am upset with this.. i have like 2500 in tunes.. 15,000 in the motor between parts and supercharger and i am tired.. i do not know what the issue is. i have spent all the money i can on this and i really don't know what the hell is causing the fronts to shut off.
one friend of mine suggested looking at the wireing to see if there is a short somewhere.. also look for the grounds to make sure they are tight.
i have a car lift so it will be easier to look at stuff but hell i HATE ELECTRICAL stuff. i suck at electrical..

now with all this being said i did not have this issue prior to the dyno tuning.. i am not throwing blame at anyone i just want some advice on what to look for..

i will reload the previous tune tommorrow to see if it does it with that to eliminate tuning issue.

one other thing i thought was to replace the map sensor? i had some intake gaskets leaking under the blower and the map had oil all over it.. could be contaminated? i doubt it as that would be a easy fix and nothing works easy for me but.

any help. suggestions, or a loaded gun would be great

thanks

Who did the dyno tune? Who was the 4 month tuner?

I am guessing.............the local dyno tune guy has no fucking clue. There are only a handful of people I would trust to tune my car for obvious reasons.

Through working with respected and not so respected tuners over the years I have learned one thing its always the cars fault

Thank you i will be here all night!! :D

Agreed try original tune again see if the problem is still there.

For the $35, I'd switch out the map sensor.

I had the windshield washer nozzle leaking on mine a few months back and it sent my air fuels all over the place.

The only 2 things on the car that have not been replaced are the throttle body and the speed density sensor

Everything else is new

lol...

Yes. Was having wonky AF issues here and there. Started car one morning and it fired up as if I was standing on gas, spitting smoke, wouldn't idle.

Unplugged sensor, she idled fine. Sensor has white residue from dried windshield fluid all over it.

Coincidence? I guessed no, but who knows ...

so last night i looked at all the sensors and wires.. i looked at the grounds on the back of the heads.. i even tryed to tighten up the grounds more.. i unziped tied all the o2 sensors and drove again. still has this miss or what ever the hell you want to call it. the 02 are NOT plug in backwards.. i unplugged the fronts started the car and got engine light for the front o2 being uplugged so they are correct and working.

i put in tune a. ( previous from dyno ) i don't feel this miss or what have you.

i do not know what to do. I have tryed to get in touch with tuner b. to get thoughts.. hard to get ahold of and says that tune a. had this same issue when he loaded it to see if it was his or both..

i don't see it.. i logged on tuner a. last night and watched 02 sensors and played it back and i never seen them go to zero volts.

SO, i do not know what to do at this point. i guess just keep throwing money at it like i have been.. that seams to work out well

for what it is worth i ordered a new map sensor but i doubt that will change / fix anything

I love cryptic forum posts :) It's like an Easter egg hunt to offer help.

A good tuner should easily be able to find the issue by reviewing a data log. I had one of my O2s hooked up backwards and Mike saw it right away. It throws off the fuel trims so that's easy to detect.

Going to 0V is very strange unless they're doing something to prevent a CEL due to no cats or something.

If you paid tuner B, and he gladly accepted your $$ last week, tuner B needs to start looking at some logs. Pronto.

He won't call you back, is he on vacation maybe?

Frustrating for sure. Good luck.
