Los Angeles Fire Department Car Show - October 16, 2011

Upcoming car show:

Los Angeles Fire Department Car Show - October 16, 2011

Come and join us for the 2011 LAFD Charity Car Show. All proceeds go to charity!

This year all the proceeds will go to the Los Angeles Fireman's Widows, Orphans and Disabled Fireman's Fund and Firefighters Quest for Burn Survivors.

The show will be located at:

22801 Roscoe Blvd.

West Hills CA 91304

Across the street from Los Angeles City Fire Station 106

The show will start at 9:00am and go until 3:00pm. Entry fee is $25.00 before October 3, 2011, $35.00 at the gate. For more information call 805.660.0579 or email [email protected].

All participants are welcome! And remember, you don't need a "show car" to participate. Our show is low key, so if you just want to come out and have a great day, wax that truck or car of yours and bring it out! Your special car is not completed? Bring it out anyway, people love to see what others are working on.

On display will be cars, trucks and motorcycles of all makes and years along with Fire Department Apparatus and Equipment.

We will have Music, Food and demonstrations put on by Cadet Post 106.

Reason I mentioned the strippers - I remember a news article where apparently some paid California fire fighters took one of their station's fire trucks on a tour of strip clubs. - not sure if it was LA or San Francisco. Trying to find the news article but couldn't track it down. But it was funny.

Here's a link to the latest LA City Fire fiasco. It actually occurred years ago, but is just now surfacing....

Who is making sure that the proceeds aren't going to fund firefighters paying strippers and topless dancers now?

Show is not that big. Not enough value to risk losing a career over beer/stripper money!

Do members have to enter strip clubs and bars while on duty (outside of emergencies)? Yes, as part of their Fire Prevention inspection responsibilities.

Hmmm, that article you linked was for that porn shoot. I can recall an incident a year or so ago in San Fran or LA where firefighters were driving fire trucks to strip clubs for recreational purposes - NOT for 'fire inspections'.

I could not find it - I may not be phrasing the Google search correctly. But I recall it was something of a scandal with these paid firefighters visiting topless bars and similar with city fire trucks.
