Ohio Mile

27 posts in this topic

Recently read about Ohio Mile events in Hot Rod magazine and wondered if anyone here had participated? If I understood the article correctly these events just moved to OH in 2012. I didn't realize such an event was even held here. There is one event left scheduled for late Sept. I believe. Kind of intrigued by it. Speak up if you've attended or are considering.

Thanks

John

i would be interested but first i have heard or read about it

It's in the latest Hot Rod Sept. issue. You can also read about it on line at ECTA-LSR .com. I should have listed link earlier. It's in Wilmingon area.

I knew they moved it to Ohio and actually considered going, but I cannot get the time off work. I might try to on the first date in 2013.

BTW... yes, they do take safety seriously. Read up on it so you don't waste a trip.

That's the old Maxton Mile that moved to ohio. You will still have a ball running the lower speed class.

I've run the Mojave Mile and the Texas Mile...Ohio and Florida are next on my list.

If anyone lives near I highly recommend running a Mile event....HUGE RUSH!!!

I have no idea what kind of MPH a stock 5.7 R/T will run in mile. Only have a cat back exhaust, 6spd with 3.92s. Was going to see if there were any postings in any of other threads such as Texas mile but haven't searched yet. Not sure if it would be just under or just over 135. Guessing that area.

So far I've seen 146-153mph posted from stock/bolt-on R/Ts. You shouldn't have a problem at all hitting 135 in the mile

Fury it is this weekend. Come by and see me. Plm Krze from NC.

Plm - I had the dates mixed up and I thought it was last weekend. I was busy last weekend so I figured I missed it. I have something to do this Sat morning. I'll see about coming after that. Have no idea how late in the day it lasts.

If it's truly stock, it'll have a speed limiter on it somewhere around high 140s low 150s. My R/T is mildly modded (LT headers, no cats, solo x catback, and custom tune) and I buried the speedo past 160 in 5th and it was still pulling pretty hard when I let off. If the speedo would've kept going, it'd be somewhere in the 165-175 range when I let off, I suppose.
