Tail Of The Dragon - Saturday May 3rd

Hello. I am very new to this forum. Thank you for having me here. I went to Challenger Fest last week for the first time and met some of you folks there and also learned about this forum. I also had the privilege of meeting Chuck and Lisa Nicholson at the event. In fact Chuck even let me wear his helmet all day on Saturday at the track. An honor I must say!

I would like to share this with you all ...

Last July I lost my beautiful wife Dana to cancer and since then I have been trying to come up with a way to honor her life and her memory. When I think about it, the only passion that ever rivaled my passion for her would have to be the passion that I have for my Plum Crazy Challenger. So my initial idea was to put as many Plum Crazy Challengers on the Tail of the Dragon as possible. A Plum Crazy parade if you will, winding though 318 curves in 11 miles through the Smoky Mountains. Then after thinking more about it and talking to several people, I realized that it would be cool to have a ton of Challengers in every color of the rainbow on that mountain! Then thinking even more on it ... why not all Mopars that want to come to. Hell! Lets just get anybody and everybody. Come one come all!

So here I am trying to get some Challengers to join me on Saturday, May 3rd to run Tail of the Dragon in Deal's Gap, NC.

Check it out at Tail of the Dragon at Deals Gap, motorcycle and sport car two lane tourism serving Tail of the Dragon at Deals Gap, Cherohala Skyway, Moonshiner28, Devils Triangle, and Six Gap North Georgia.

Please let me know if this is something that you would be interested in doing with me?

A very gracious thank you for your consideration to all my Mopar brothers and sisters.

Bill Scata

Very sorry for your loss.

Welcome to the MMF. You can learn a ton of stuff here. We have great members and very good vendors that can help you mod your ride in performance and looks.

I would love to do the "Dragon" one day. I guess I will add that to my Bucket List. Unfortunately we have nothing close to the Dragon up here in Canada.

I could not make CF5 this year but for damn sure... my ass will be at CF6!!!

Stevo

Nice pic BTW.... ;)

I'm very sorry for your loss my friend and what a thoughtful way to honor her life and her memory!!! My mother was just diagnosed so we're just at the beginning stages of her treatment. She's a fighter though so I know she won't give up easily,God Bless, drive safe and have a wonderful trip!!!

Welcome aboard Bill! Was a pleasure to meet you at CF5. Nice to see there is one other person with my size 8+ noggin!!!

My mother fought the big C for many years. It's a tough road, but I think worth the fight. I know she had some of the best times of her life after she began that fight. I guess you really do feel more alive when threatened!

Wish I could do the Dragon run, but my schedule is still recovering from a couple long weekends and now I have a bunch of family events right in a row.

Ya'll go ripping through it. If you have any questions, I think Speedy has run it many times on his bike.

Welcome Bill Its great to see you on here. Let me look at my schedule and see if I can make it. I have done the Dragon's tail, Cherohala Skyway, and The Gauntlet all in one day a handful of times. It is a ton of fun and will wear your ass down by the end of the day!!

Thank you all for the warm welcome and kind words! I look forward to meeting some of you at the Tail and the rest at the shows coming up. The car scene here in the South is starting to heat up as I'm sure it is in your neck of the woods too. I wish that I could do it all. Looking forward to becoming a regular on MMF and being part of this family!

Matching noggins with Chuck! vvv

I'll check with the bride, short notice might be a problem. What are your plans, starting place/time? Ending place? stay over at start and end??

I used to do all the twisties in southern californica on a Harley. slim chance I can make it so info would help. CK.

I'm coming from Atlanta so about a 2.5 hour drive up for me on Saturday morning. We'll all meet up in the Robbinsville High School parking lot. Address is 301 Sweetwater Road Robbinsville NC 28771 by noon at the latest and roll outon the Tail from there. Then we could do lunch or even The Gauntlet if people want more. Then I was planning to head back home. Nice long day in my happy place which is my Challenger! You can email me at [email protected] or message me here if you have any questions.

Thanks again!
