Questions Using Comp Limiter And Degreeing Cam.

SO hopefully next weekend I will get the majority of the work done to get my car going again.

I have all the stuff to degree cams from the other engines I do but I was curious on the VVT if it is the same method?

Does the phaser or where the cam is parked in the phaser come into play?

any input on installing the limiter and degreeing the cam would be appreciated.

Thanks

No limiter on my Lunati cam. Micah did the install. He can probably answer a few of your questions. I had PTV problems after the install. Mike discovered a trick in moving the cam. Made more hp! Reach out to Mike at OST. He can help you Ron.

Good luck with the install.

Well after reading the whole "To VVT or not to VVT" discussion, is degreeing the cam even get you anything other than verifying that comp cut the damn thing right.

From my understanding, degreeing will help make sure the camshaft operates correctly with your engine valves/valve timing. Basically, youre just making sure nothing happened during the manufacturing of the cam and helps you determine if you need to send the cam back or not. People say it’s a “risk” not to, but more than usual nothing was wrong.

yeah I degree all the cams in my older motors for the race car and the street car. The question is how does that cam phaser affect the process.. I'll find out tomorrow

To degree it isn't any different than the way you would do a motor without vct without any spring pressure or pressurized oil being fed via a activated vct solenoid the phaser is not going to move, I would reach out to Dave Webber for the how to of checking valve clearance.
