Timing Chain Help!!!!

So i installed the timing assembely when the motor was still on the stand. Dropped the motor in the car and finished up the top end. For some reason i was second guessing the timing chain, so i pulled the cover off again and what do you know. Some how the arrow is now at 4 o'clock position.

Is there anyway of re-positioning the cam so i can set the arrow at 12 again without removing the heads?

Did you rotate the motor after installing the timing chain ? If so that is why the timing marks aren't lined up. If you aren't 100 % certain it's on right, pull the rocker gear loose then pull the cam gear off and realign the crank & cam marks. I don't off hand remember how many revolutions it takes but if you line the cam & crank gears up and install the chain then rotate the crank even if you brink it back to top dead center on #1 cylinder the marks will not line up. Been there and done this. lol

its 2 to 1. one turns twice and the other turns once. intake stroke and then exhaust stroke. so i think its 2 crank rotations to one cam rotation.

Yep, you are correct. Try it on a gen III hemi and see if the colored link on the chain lines back up, nope ! lol

nope. The ratio is 2:1 but it takes like 65 turns to get back to the marks on on the chain lined up. I always mark the block as the dots on the gears will never change at TDC.

I got everything lined back up. Now i got another question. I cant seem to be able to torque the camshaft bolt without moving the gear with it. I was told to hold on to the crankshaft bolt, but the gear is still moving as soon as i try to torque the bolt
