2-step Install

Picked up a 2 step from the fine folks at Stage6. No more lazy or inconsistent launches. Cost me a round at Bradenton last week. The install wasn't too bad but I wouldn't do it again lol Pulled apart the harness and soldered each individual wire in. Was even able to reuse the factory electrical tape. If it wasn't for red shrink wrap, you would know anyone was in there. Cant wait to try it out :)

Nice job there!

Thanks Frank. Seeing all that work you did on yours inspired me :D

Sheesh, nice job on that. Let us know what you think of it.

Thanks Denis, will do. I just hope the clutch holds up a little longer...... it's not gonna like it as much as I will lol

The kit from Stage 6 is an easy install. Just a little work to strip some wires and some soldering. Nothing to it!.

Agreed. Pretty straight forward. However unraveling the tape on the main harnesses took some time as to not destroy it for reuse. I wasn't able to save the tape on the wires to the coil. It was stuck to itself in too many places. The factory cloth tape is much better than the regular vinyl junk that comes apart with heat.

How long did it take you from start to finish?

Got about 4-5 hrs in it so far. Still gotta run the trigger wire over to the line lock and run a bypass switch to the interior so I can disable it for the water box. I took a few back breaks in between soldering because i'm old lol I can't stay bent over a fender very long anymore. My flat rate days were over a long time ago.

Black Cloth tape available of all places... Walmart. Looks and feels like the factory.

Thanks for the tip. I'll look for some next time i'm there. I have some restoration tape for the earlier 60's & 70's cars but it doesn't look anything like whats on the newer cars.

If you.plan on using the stage 6 2 step as a no lift shift , itwont do it.

I tried it and ended up using a N2MB WOT box

I've always lifted but if I ever decide not to, it should be ok as the trigger wire will be wired to the line lock. It wont be active until the line lock is engaged. That's the reason I need a bypass switch in the interior so I can disable it for the burn out.

Our 2 Step isn't designed to be a no lift shift. The RPM's have to drop 1000 RPM's below the set point to arm itself again. There's safety built into it.

Thanks for the compliments guys. To install it the "right" way it should be soldered and will take a smidge of time. Hell, Dwight has installed one at the track in 20mins doing it the quick way.
