Two Days At The Track

i would be interested too but if i recall it was some outrageous amount

I heard that also. But at the show several people asked about watching some of our cars run at Beach Bend. Speedy said that Bowling Green the city helped us out this year, so maybe we could advertise T&T on Friday and race day on Saturday to help defray the cost.

I was with Jay when he talked to Mr. Jones about a 2 day event. If I remember correctly he wanted $15000 for a 2 day event. His exact words were [CAN YOU AFFORD IT].

Wow - although we were rained out this weekend our daily rate was $ 1750 to be split between 4 or 5 cars. I know richard is a good friend with the owner but still a LONG way from 15K for 2 days.

Sounds like a pig number but if you had 75 cars committed to going it's 200 per car. Pretty much in line with a standard private track rental fee here in the north east/mid atlantic region. Should be at least 6hr. long day though.

The hot lapping is the result of wanting to get all the cars through one class without losing anyone. A few years back it was run like most events with one round of each class , then a second etc and there was a huge amount of confusion of who had to be in the staging lanes when. Remember, there are a lot of rookies and hot lapping makes it easy for them just knowing if they win, they just come right back.

I agree, hot lapping is tough, especially if running N2O (bottle change :) ) or just need a cooldown cause your KenneBell is getting toasty, but with the numer of first timers each year it does make it simpler.

I guess the track would be open Friday night for T&T anyway. For those of us with cars that look like a POS, that would be an option over the car show.

I think that cuts into the drinking time.

Does anyone know how many we had running at BB this year?

Did Mr.Jones forget to mention that Beer, Hookers and Blow was included in that quote?

Yeah when I asked him about a two day he hit me pretty hard and the man doesn't pull any punches. They have standing Sunday NHRA race and if we do Friday he's "claimed" I have to cover the $1M insurance and EMT/Ambulance personally. I'll ask him again next time I go up there as each year he's gotten a little easier to work with and now, honestly, he feels like a Grandfather to me lol He was asking me about married life and everything else when settling up with him this year.

The first three years I couldn't even get a data until mid Feb....lots changed since then.
