Hellcat Craze Over?

104 posts in this topic

Not sure if the Hellcat craze has passed, everyone that wanted one right off the bat already got them, or a combination of the two. My local dealer has a 2016 B5 A8 Hellcat for sale with brass monkey wheels that they're desperate to get rid of. Says they can't get anyone to even look at it, have called everyone who said they wanted one, etc. I was just kicking tires and they were already talking about coming OFF msrp if I was interested. MSRP is $69,180. If anyone is interested in it let me know and I'll get you in touch with my guy there. If it was Hemi Orange I'd probably look harder. Hemi Orange is likely the only color I'll have in this car.

Funny thing is it started off with a $20K markup and now they can't get anyone to even nibble at MSRP. Says they can't get another allocation until they sell this one so they're motivated.

I've been lookin on eBay for used ones already and there starting at msrp and excepting best offer. I seen one today with less then 500 miles on it and it said 75% on the tires. It sounds like it's been beat on with 75% tread left and only 500 miles on it

My bad, typo....corrected first post - $69,180 is the MSRP on it.

My buddy had a voucher for a second 2016 Hellcat and he couldn't find anyone that wanted it either. It was Plum Crazy color and he declined it when the dealer got it. I think they had to send it to TX to sell it or some guy from TX came and got it.

I wouldn't buy another Challenger, If I bought a HC it would definitely be a charger exactly like the one LegMaker just got.

Why. They shouldn't even make a 4 door Charger. Blasphemy.

Fuck em....hope it sits there till 2020 greedy ass dealers smh

That's kind of how I feel as well. My local dealer called me when they got one in and wanted me to come look at it, with a $20K markup, and acknowledging that they would pay to send it to the body shop to take care of the clearcote that was fubar. Love my manual but after driving my RAM with the A8 if I was to buy one it would be an A8 car.

Not particularly interested but I do catch myself on Ebay looking at the price drops before I spend any more $ on mine.

If im gonna play with a 4300lb car, it might as well have 4 doors and go 204 mph not a measly 199!

lol

Only took a year and a half

Would have taken 3 months if Dodge hadn't bungled the ordering process so horribly. I swear you put those execs in a rubber room with two steel ball bearings and in less than an hour they'd break one and lose the other.

JMPO but for me the 4 door Hellcat Charger is a great daily driver. I definitely prefer this car over the Hellcat Challenger. Finally appears that there are many allocations available making MSRP or better pricing normal rather than ridiculous ADM.
