The Women Of Modern Mopar

53 posts in this topic

I was pleasantly surprised to see how many women came to CF to show and race their cars. Although my daughter is still young I hope she takes to cars and racing like I did. Women like Lisa/BayouTigress, Linda and Bobbi/HemiWoman who get behind the wheel and burn rubber are a great inspiration ... even my own darling wife wanted to buy a HellCat and race it after seeing you gals go.

Don't forget Kate who at 19 lit it up on the track! And of course Jen who we prodded into giving it a shot last year and went deep into the bracket this year!

We women have so much fun at these events.

When Kate Tout beat me in the 3rd round of unlimited, the first question she asked me was "Did you let me win?" I said "Are you crazy?". She got a BIG hole shot on me and I couldn't catch her.

I think there were more of us racing this year than in the past. There was also a women driving a stock charger and one driving one of the hellcat challengers. I wanted to get a pic of all of us but fell flat on making it happen.

And Denis, next year your wife needs to drive!!!!

She can take the truck for a pass. She doesn't drive standard, and I don't think the drag strip is the best place to learn lol

Next year we need a handicap bracket race for ladies only. That way we can get more ladies involved.

Not to derail this, but I'm trying to do something with Dan for young drivers under 21, male and female..

Heck no, I've seen you race... You and Wendy will happily kick anyone's butt :)

It would be cool to have a Women's shootout, kinda like what we do with the 6 speeds.

That is degrading to all of the women who are better than the men (and there are plenty!).

This is an activity where neither gender has an advantage.

We did have a lot of ladies racing this year, more than we've ever had I believe. Running three classes in a day with as many cars as we had this year get to about the limit of what we have time for and still have the TNT time I try to keep so folks that just wanna go down the track can make all the passes they want. I'm always open to discussion on things though. I was a bit disappointed Speedlogix didn't get back to me on sponsoring fastest female this year, but maybe they'll get involved again for CF7 and we can do something there. Kate Tout looked like a pro out there, impressive.

I love getting beat by women ESPECIALLY with an extra firm antenna.

You go Herb !

Proven fact Women have better reaction times once they learn what's up. I've been trying to get Jane to race for years. I think she's going to run the Hellcat. The Orange car scared her but hell it scared AJ too.

I'll buy Shannon a bat :)

Speedy,

I wll put up $100 for fastest female of the event and a bounty of $100 on myself to any woman that eliminates me in the bracket class at CF7.

Linda Tout would have won the bounty this year, took me out in round one :)

Good deal! I intended to put $100 or so bucks on my race with TA340 this year with proceeds to go to R4V, but was so exhausted Saturday I didn't think it safe to put the car on the track with me driving. I'll default and add that to my donation this year. Next year we should do some side bets with R4V benefiting :)
