Twin Turbo 6.4 - Stock Bottom End

114 posts in this topic

Ye Gods Justin...what torque. Is that stratospheric torque/horsepower ratio unique to turbos in general? I've seen torque numbers from you guys 50'ish higher than h.p. with superchargers, but nothing close to this pickup in the 600 rwhp range.

Yeah, compare it to Jim, Alan's and Mike's numbers on the dyno

Also, I note that twin turbo has 60-70 ft lbs MORE rear wheel torque than the new supercharged Mustang GT500, which is the new benchmark against which performance cars are now measured, and that's on a very conservative boost level too.

Exactly. These turbo numbers are better than anything produced yet on a factory 392 that was PCM swapped and supercharged. They look bad assed to me and remember this car is still running Mexican, cast internals.

Here's my dyno. Torque falling after 4,000 is typical for hemi's. Notsure's looks the same. The h.p. curve continuing with a positive slope till almost 6,000 is where the supercharger has an advantage...at least in this case.

Stock GT500 tests at 595 hp and 603 ft lbs - holy shit, that 392 has the same hp, and 88 ft lbs MORE torque than the Shelby.

With stock internals, that is DAMN impressive. Just shows you what Dodge could do with this engine if they were motivated to do so.
