Williams RT

My Arrington Build

80 posts in this topic

I had arrington build me a short block and install it, as basic a build as you can get.

5.7 VVT.

6.1 forged crank.

Forged rods.

Forged pistons.

ARP main studs,

Stock heads.

Better springs.

Forged push rods.

Head studs.

6.4 cam.

That was it just as basic as it gets, I added a new McCleod clutch while the engine was out. I am still using the magnacharger tune, AJ just had to tweak it.

The boost was 14 pounds and the engine made 590HP with 675TQ, It only made 15HP less with the 12# pulley. I will add some install pictues later.

I am interested in this genius build, more details Phil!

Cheapest/ basic build you can get Alan. Forged short block, stock heads with the springs upgraded and a 6.4 cam with forged push rods. Preliminary results look good. I was able to get one pass on the car 11.31@ 125 mph. That is a 9 mph hour improvement. Need to get the ET down to match the mph.

More fun for Phil....I bet he got Arrington to do it for $25, a 6pack of Bud, and a ride in that Camero :D

you have been to Arrington rob, do you think I got off that easy? lol.

Thanks to everyone else for the congrats, but it might be premature to do so as there are issues to still work through.

Seriously, ought to be awesome! The bar on the 6 speeds is really starting to move now!

I kept trying to break it Chuck, these dam 5.7s are better than people keep saying. lol I almost forgot where the key was

Can't wait to see it run. Will we see it at Atco?

I would love too Bobbie but I think November 3rd will be the first chance I get to run the car and I would like to know it is running right before I travel with it.

Boost Phil.... Boost! How much you running?

No head massage? 90mm TB? CR?

Details Phil... details!!!!!!

C'mon man!

Stevo

Just need those details don't you Stevo lol. No sir no head work at all except better springs, same 85mm TB I had before,6.4 cam, 14# of boost but it only made 15 more HP going from 12# to 14#. So I may just run 12# after checking IATs on both pulleys. The CR let's say that is the one part of the build I will keep under raps for now. I will tell you on Arringtons dyno it turned 590HP and 675TQ. I will get it to my normal dyno to compare it to my previous numbers to see the improvement.

Is it gonna have a forged catch can too?

lol believe it or not still no catch can, I know they are good for 50HP but I am too cheap to buy one.
