Should Challengerfest 5 Be Extended To 3 Days (w/2 Track Days)

Many, many kudos to Mike, Speedy and everyone involved and organizing CF4! Although it was my first Challengerfest I must say I was impressed! However, this was way too much fun and there was way too much to do (in my opinion) to have the event only last 2 days.

Just my thoughts but what about something like this:

Thursday - car show, barbecue, dyno

Friday - Track rental/test and tune, cruise, beer and moonshine sampling

Saturday - Race, awards banquet

I'm probably out of line even suggesting this a noob to the event so if you think so just ignore me and this post.

I like the idea of an optional rental on Friday. Yes, I know it ain't cheap. But I guarantee you if the regulars are asked to pony up money enough will be raised.

I don't think you will have to try hard to get folks to pay for the track rental. I am not sure what Beach Bend charges per lane on Fridays but most of the rentals I have been a part of a roughly $1500 for one lane. I bet there are 15 guys who would tentatively commit to kick in $100 for the rental well before the event. I bet the only questions will be - will you need to rent two lanes or one and how much track bite you will need.

I don't have a problem with the cost being double. That's still cheap. The thing is we all had fun, but we have grown out of one day track and a two day event in just 4 years. I know I'll step up to volunteer again if needed. You guys did an awesome job, and would like to thank each one of you.

If we do a Friday Track Day too it will be a all day T&T for anyone thats a paid driver. If not, people will show up and complain why they cant get in on Friday. People cant read, you know that. Just look at Alan and Jim. Prime examples.

Then Saturday would be about 1 hr T&T, 1 hr Qualifying, then the rest for the Races so we dont have to hot lap and then any time left would be open T&T

I think it's a great idea! As a first timer coming in Friday... I can say I already planned on making it a longer trip next year. Had a blast and hopefully I'll have a car capable of running next year. It would be nice to not have to "rush" all the track time in to that one day.
