No Cf5 For Me :(

35 posts in this topic

Well boys and girls....I'm out for CF5 for sure now. After picking up my car last week from BFNY, I brought it back to get the exhaust adjusted as it was a little too tight, vibrating a little bit, and making noise on bumps and such. Well, after Erik adjusted a few things, we uncovered a new sound. Pulled the drain plug on the trans and yep -- metal in the fluid. The trans had less than 100 miles on it and none of my patented launches ;). Simply driving from BFNY to my house and back. Needless to say, I'm bummed. Nothing anyone did wrong other than the trans shop that rebuilt it. It will get addressed in short order, just not in time for CF5.

If there was a silver lining, I was going to bust ass early next week as I just sold my old house (thank god) and need to get my stuff out of there, so now I will have time to get that done with out killing myself. Also, got to meet Bill (bluebyubill) who was a nice guy and will have a wild 6spd ride at CF5.

So....anyone want to buy the 6speed they are sending back fixed? maybe it is time to eat a burrito and go fast.

It was a pleasure to meet you Rob. I 'm sorry about your transmission and that you won't be at CF5. Your car certainly sounded seriously badassed! Ben and Erik will get it straightened out.

Thanks Bill.....Erik and Ben are great.....no worries about that at all. I'm just reflecting on the fact that when they get it back, it will be the fourth time a "new" trans has been in the car.

Wonder how fast it would be with an auto......mwahahahahaha. Seeing that metal come out with the nice clean fluid really sucked Rob. We'll get it back to Rockland and make sure they step up.

I communicated with the lead tech at Rockland...a lot. Great guy but they can be a bit of a mess. I'm wondering whether you tried to go with a 9310 option they were working on but had some issues with initially.
