Ok 392 Cam In 5.7 Or Not?

I have an issue to be resolved before I can dyno/track the car again, but what I can tell you is, anything below 500hp and or 11.70 or less and I will be less than pleased.

Those are my expectations.

I feel the same way.

You would be money way ahead to just put the blower on the car and forget about the cam.

that sounds good , but I would not have the $ , second as Jay said if you have no mechanical ability with these cars I have no business getting blown, third I would be stuck at the same level for the next 4 years. whats the fun in that. third I race 1 or 2 ,maybe three times this year. SC doesn't sound to be a great payback to me. and I don't need some of the problems that I have been reading about lately.

Sean and 345 are you blown or NA???

From what I have been seeing on this the NA cam swap works pretty good, not so good or bad for SC cars.

what ever, i'm scheduled and will spill the beans to y'all on how it works out for me. the vendor will like or not like my posts after this is done. I expect he will like my posts. positive thinkin right there. night all. CK.

Manni installed and every other fuc*in thing I need???

I was all in but waited for 3 people I knew that were doing it to see the results for myself. One lost a minor amount of power that could have been due to differences in temps between the before and after dynos, another saw little change either way, and the last one didn't do a before and after dyno but did an after at a dyno day with several other 5.7's. His was the lowest HP and TQ of all of the other 5.7's running on the same dyno that day.

I've read about all the gains but from personal observation just haven't seen it. Until I do I'll pass.

Mopar Medic claimed to have the 392 cam in his KB blown 5.7 6 speed at CF4. He said he picked up 60RWHP. Anybody remember how he ran on the track to compare to last year?

I know the EVIC 0 to 60 is pretty much useless but I am hitting by far my best times and it is a Hot day today. 4.66 Seconds compared to 5.22... I feel like low 4's are definitely obtainable.

My Mobile G-Tac App also is saying 11.8 sec Qtr Mile @ 118 mph. Take it all for what it's worth, which is probably not much.

Wed will help shed some light, but my butt dyno says it is good.

Mine was a more a driver issue, not enough seat time. I made to many changes. 12.00 117 was my best at cf4. I made 4 runs. 11.49 119 was my best before cam swap. I also changed the clutch and shifter and went to meth. Finished on Tuesday Dyno tuned car on wednesday before cf4 603hp 557 tq. Made 55 hp with cam and meth. Changed tires and loaded car on trailer to head to cf4. That was all the seat time I had. Car sat almost 5 months without being driven. I was extremely disappointed with the results. Now that I have more seat time driving on the steet the car pulls harder on the top end then before. I will be back at the track in October. Mopar 280 also did the cam swap, had cars Dynoed same day. it's a Mopar10 6spd shorty headers, Maggie 8lbs and 6.4 cam. 557 hp 510 tq. Yes the cam makes power it just makes it high in the rpm. Results will come with seat time, anybody with a 6spd already knows this.
