New Record For Hemisam On The Texas Mile... 207.3mph!

53 posts in this topic

Congrats to all involved. Most eople don't understand how much work is involved to accomplish something like this. Many give up before it's all done. It's more then just buying parts and sticking them together. Looks like all the hard work is paying off.

in the 200 mph club....just takes him a little more road to get there.

Oh, he was already faster he'd ran a 205.

Anymore passes made?

Thanks to all for the support! It was a heck of a Texas Mile for several reasons, not the least of which was several passes over my prior record without breaking...bonus!

Big thanks to API including supa tuna A.J. "hemituner" for helping me build a car that is withstanding the beatings without breaking. All 4500lbs of my big gal...way heavier than most anything else out there running. This was a new combo....don't know of anyone running what I have now so we were carving new ground once again. I had a few passes at VMP where we couldn't get the trans to shift without lifting and that was figured out quickly. I got two passes in Houston at Royal Purple. First one on springs was good for a 9 sec run without track prep. Got my data and went about my business. That was all before this event.

We learned a lot with the passes this time out....about the transmission and shift points, the torque converter which is a trip, about the turbos and about tuning. More tweaking to be done but overall I am pleased as punch.

Family got to see the 200mph+ runs which was super cool.

Big thanks to Team Shake n Bake for all the support and especially my boy CIA (aka Super360...Doug). You're the man brother. I left the 210mph run on the table Sunday morning for the experimenting with some changes to the car but it was no fault of yours...you done me right by busting your ass to get me a good spot. We'll take advantage of it next time.

Great to see so many friends again like Doug, Kenny and Alan, Chuck & Lisa, Dale, Jim & Tina, Supa Dave and several others. The TX Mile is the center of the universe for me twice a year and this year was no exception. I think Ed enjoyed the Texas hospitality...Team Shake n Bake shared everything so I hope he left feeling the love.

As for the residual effects:

My best pass....

I'm told this is the best half mile...I haven't a clue

:D
